Eaton’s Commercial & Residential Distribution Solutions Division is currently seeking an Operational Excellence (OPEX) and Facilities Manager to join our Marina Power & Lighting team. This position will be based out of the Williamsburg, VA location. Relocation assistance will be provided for candidates residing outside a 50-mile radius of the location listed in the job description. Position Overview: The primary function of the OPEX and Facilities Manager will be to manage multi-product line manufacturing operations to meet or exceed safety, quality, delivery, cost, and efficiency goals. This position will also be responsible for maintenance and facility management. S/he will manage and develop plant employees through teaching, coaching, mentoring and leadership. In this function you will: Apply knowledge of lean production systems to improve manufacturing processes and drive capacity through productivity to achieve or exceed operations assessment score/targets as well as cost out goals. Support capital investment process by developing, executing, and implementing capital expenditure strategy, defining projects and executing upon assignments. Implement visual factory, standard work, and best practice development/execution of strategic plans for implementation of ELSS in facility-based upon lean assessment. Assist Plant Manager, Operations Manager, Engineering, and Quality Manager and other Operational Excellence personnel in the development of procedures to maximize output, maintain or improve quality, and reduce overall cost. Support continuous improvement activities in all areas of business in support of Eaton Lean Six Sigma (ELSS), Eaton Quality System (EQS), ISO 9001, and the Eaton Business System (EBS). Serve as internal Lean subject matter expert and train personnel as required in CIF and lean/Six Sigma methodologies, and conduct training needs assessment associated with ELS as required. Ensure maintenance of records and reports on productivity and quality. Lead MESH (Safety) categories that correspond to maintenance and facility activities and achieve 5S deployment and foster culture. Establish and plan maintenance and preventative maintenance requirements to ensure support of the operations, including management of outside contractors, and establish priorities in keeping with effective operations and cost factors. Preferred qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing or Business Lean Six Sigma trained and Certified – Green Belt Minimum Prior management of people experience ISO 9001 experience Project Management Professional certified Position Criteria: Previous managerial experience and technical knowledge in manufacturing processes, quality methods, industrial engineering, Supply Chain, or Project Management Experience developing, integrating, and supporting manufacturing systems with business processes Demonstrated knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, phased gate product launch, capital procurement processes, Interpersonal Communications and Leadership Skills Development.
