Responsibility/Job Description：

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of education programs in obstetrics and gynecology nursing and the establishment of a positive and reflective learning environment to facilitate teaching and learning. Participate in the development and review of policies and procedures pertinent to clinical practice and education. Collaborate with unit managers and directors to develop, implement and evaluate initial and annual competencies of obstetrics and gynecology nurses. Work closely with other obstetrics and gynecology professionals and patients to improve disease outcomes and finding innovative approaches for patient management—from educating professionals on new treatment protocols to working with patients and caregivers to educate, train, counsel and provide clinical support. Provide in-services for nurses on specific topic or practice issue, when indicated.

ESSENTIAL TASKS:

Cultivate a positive and supportive learning environment;

Provide opportunities for nurses to advance their knowledge and skills;

Identify learning needs of nurses and develop individualized education program to address their knowledge and skills deficit;

Participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of obstetrics and gynecology education program for nurses at all level;

Participate in the development and review of policies and procedures pertinent to clinical practice and education;

Align education materials and programs with SOPs;

Monitor SOPs are strictly followed at all times;

Collaborate with unit managers to develop, implement and evaluate Initial and Annual competencies of oncology nurses.

Work closely with other oncology professionals and patients to improve disease outcomes and finding innovative approaches for patient management—from educating professionals on new treatment protocols to working with patients and caregivers to educate, train, counsel and provide clinical support;

Plan, schedule and supervise nurses during their clinical practicum;

Be supportive and as a role model and resource person to junior nurses and nurse interns;

Provide in-services for nurses on specific topic or practice issue, when indicated, e.g.: new drug, new equipment or instrument;

Provide profession/ education counseling to nurses as needed;

Compile annual and mid-year report on clinical education;

Maintain and attain educational and/or clinical competencies appropriate to the educator role

DECISION-MAKING and ANALYTICAL SKILLS:

Participate in quality assurance activities to improve the standard of practice;

Participate in committees /projects focusing on education needs of staff and patients;

Participate in evidence-based practice;

Represent as the hospital liaison with the teaching institution as assigned;

Assume other responsibilities or tasks as assigned by Director of Nurse Education /CNO.

Good knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and HIS.

Uses modern office/training equipment, including computers and modern audiovisual equipment.

Leading practices for learning management systems &content delivery.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:

Bachelor degree or above in Nursing or Health Care related field.

At least 4 year of clinical nursing experience and supervisory experience.

Obstetrics and gynecology nursing experience and license preferred.

Professional education program development and quality improvement activities experience.

Overseas experience preferred.

Maintain CPR, certifications (BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, etc.) per hospital policy.

Bilingual with Chinese and English fluency.
