We seek a nutrition expert to work on our ice creams and Plant based Beverage. We have strong commitments to reduce calorie and sugar levels in our products and the Nutrition and Health Assistant Manager would:

  • Monitor progress made against our nutritional improvements and look for impactful ways to communicate internally and externally
  • Provide scientifically sound in depth knowledge of nutritional aspects into ice cream innovation projects
  • Support the business with insight into the nutritional composition of the product portfolio to help determine goals for renovation or innovation
  • Develop communication materials to support product launches, BLG activities and issue management related to Nutrition & Health

The role reports into Refreshment R&D and is functionally part of the global nutrition capability, with the purpose to deliver the sustainable nutrition ambitions for Foods and Refreshment. The Nutrition team is responsible for providing nutrition and health claims and communication guidance to innovation/renovation and BLG projects, as well as providing guidance to product development to ensure we meet our USLP targets and nutrition commitments.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Monitor and report on USLP nutrition KPIs as input for internal and external communication
  • Provide content for transparent and coherent communication about nutrition and health aspects of our products, recipes and processing
  • Act as nutrition expert in project context, translating nutritional rationale into clear nutritional specifications in the product brief
  • Explain the nutritional and health science behind key brands and claims to internal and external target audiences
  • Generate new insights that can be used in delivering superior products and communication thereof, based on understanding of dietary needs and consumer habits, product composition and serving sizes, and competitor analysis

Specific Tasks:

  • Monitoring and reporting of progress made on calorie and sugar reduction; including working with regional network and specification management to ensure accuracy of data
  • Support the sugar reduction team on progress, opportunities and challenges
  • Provide nutrition input in concept and product development for ice creams for multiple concurrent projects
  • Develop N&H communication materials to support product launches and to communicate our USLP targets and nutritional achievements
  • Translate scientific findings and facts into appropriate brand related communications for health influencers and consumers
  • Translate knowledge and understanding of competitor trends, external pressure and issues, into relevant business opportunities
  • Assist global nutrition team in queries on data and nutrition calculations for e.g. scoring on proposed nutrient profiles

Skills/ Experience/ Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Degree in Nutrition, Dietetics, Food Science or other relevant discipline
  • >3 years of relevant working experience in a relevant discipline such as R&D, nutrition in FMCG, public health
  • Proficient use of large databases
  • Pro-active hands on approach to deliver results
  • Excellent project management and communication skills
  • Fluent English both oral and writing.

Desirable:

  • Registered nutritionist with Association of Nutrition
  • Experience of working regionally / globally
  • Multiple stakeholder relationship management experience
  • Product-specific nutritional knowledge

Travel Yes, 5% of the time
