Nursing Officer

The CUHK Jockey Club Institute of Ageing is established to support the University’s aspiration to overcome the challenges brought by the ageing population to society. The Institute will synergise the research personnel and efforts on ageing across disciplines to promote and implement holistic strategies for active ageing through research, policy advice, community outreach and knowledge transfer. A team is established to develop scenario-based, interactive online training materials in a dedicated platform. Formal and informal caregivers in caring for frail older adults will acquire the knowledge and skills to handle elders with long-term care need in real-life cases.
The appointee will (a) engage partnership and co-ordinate with team members, hospital staff and related stakeholders; (b) plan and devise online training materials with video clips and structured guides in dedicated platforms; (c) organise publicity to introduce the programme and demonstrate online training materials in various settings and targets, including hospitals, NGOs, community, professionals and the general public; (d) co-ordinate work flow and other related tasks; (e) co-ordinate projects and events related to the Institute; and (f) perform other tasks as assigned.
Applicants should be/have (i) registered nurses in Hong Kong; (ii) a valid Practising Certificate issued by The Nursing Council of Hong Kong; (iii) at least 6 years’ post-registration work experience as nurse; (iv) substantial years of work experience in the gerontological field of hospital/primary health care setting; (v) excellent communication and interpersonal skills; (vi) strong verbal, written and presentation skills in both English and Chinese; and (vii) the ability to work independently and closely in a team. Possession of a higher degree is preferred.
Appointment will initially be made on a 2-year contract with contract-end gratuity, renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
