AccorHotels are seeking motivated, highly engaging, exceptional attention to detail, analytical and passionate Full-Time Night Cleaner / Auditor to join our team at Peppers Beacon Queenstown.

We are currently seeking energetic, passionate, and experienced Night Cleaner to join our Housekeeping Department. Ideally, we are looking for a person with housekeeping experience and are willing to uphold our reputation and produce the highest quality work.
The Night Cleaner / Auditor role requires a high level of commitment and self-discipline combined with a passion and determination to grow further into the Night Audit and Night Manager duties. This is an excellent role for someone looking to progress further into the auditing and analytical aspects of a Night Auditors role at a hotel. Reliability and being team player will be essential in this role and demonstrating this on a consistent basis will be mandatory. Excellent attention to detail combined with impeccable organisational skills are also requirements. You need to be able to respond efficiently, productively and excellent at prioritising multi tasks at one time.
We are looking for a candidate who is reliable and injects positive energy and is self-motivated in achieving what needs to be done in the role as detailed in the following, but not limited to:
Responsibilities
- Ensure all guests are greeted with a warm and genuine welcome and assist them as and when required.
- Provide local knowledge and advice to guests when requested.
- Clean all public areas, ensuring all tasks and areas are completed and maintained at or above the required standard.
- Answer all incoming phones and respond accordingly.
- Actively be present around the hotel.
- Conduct security checks as per policy, procedures and checklist.
- Conduct all Night Cleaning duties relating, but not limited to, the stocking relocation of used and clean linen, stocking of amenities and general errands.
- When required assist in servicing guest rooms, ensuring all tasks are completed at or above the required standard.
- Report all maintenance problems, damaged equipment and missing items immediately.
- Assist guests with all enquiries and complaints, and provide accurate information to guests about the property facilities and features.
- Comply with all guest privacy and security procedures.
- Stock and maintain both housekeeping and maintenance trolleys, ensuring adequate supplies are available and the trolleys are presentable at all times.
- Undertake special cleaning projects, as requested.
- Have an eye for detail and high standards of cleanliness.
- Ability and enthusiasm to cover the Night Managers duties on their nights off – training will be required. This includes but not limited to:
- Checking guests in and out of our property and settling accounts
- Provide accurate and up to date financial and yield reports as directed
- Actively contribute towards reaching agreed hotel targets and objectives
- Audit the daily activity of front office and food & beverage operations in accordance to policies and procedures
- Maintain responsibility for the overall auditing and administration function of the Night Audit process
- Managing and undertaking the Hotels management systems night audit process
- Be knowledgeable of Front Office systems and know back up procedures and system recovery procedures
- Process and reconcile the daily banking inline with the hotels Trust Accounting and Sync bank.
- Process and allocate payments by following strict criteria and using correct remittance documentation to ensure accuracy
- Maintain current knowledge of all security and emergency procedures and manage the instigation of such procedures as required
- Inform other departments of Guest special requests, including early/late departures and room changes
- Ensure guest feedback is recorded accurately per operational standards and any matters requiring action are resolved in a prompt and efficient manner
- Follow the correct company procedures at all times, including procedure for all lost property items.
- Handle all amenities, chemicals, equipment and tools according to specific instructions and OH&S standards.
- Adhere to all OH&S policies and standards in place at Peppers Beacon.
Successful applicant will have:
- Over six months Public Area Cleaning or Houseperson experience preferred with a strong passion and desire to grow into a Night Auditor or Managers role.
- Experience in a five star resort is beneficial but not essential
- Exceptional personal hygiene and grooming standards
- Ability to work as part of a team but also able to work self-supervised
