Description: The Juilliard School (Juilliard) is a world renowned, global performing arts conservatory and institution of higher learning located on the campus of Lincoln Center in New York and in Tianjin, China (The Tianjin Juilliard School). Information and technology management are essential to the success of the School’s academic programs as well as its day-to-day operations. The core business of Juilliard is to provide world class instruction in music, drama and dance to a diverse student body at the pre-undergraduate, undergraduate and graduate levels. IT Director of the Tianjin Juilliard School creates business value through technology, performs strategic planning in support of the School’s business objectives, and ensures information technology (IT) systems and processes lead to outcomes that align with those objectives.

Primary Responsibilities:

Network Administration

• Install, configure, and maintain network equipment.
• Create and maintain VLANs.
• Liaise and negotiate with Internet Service Providers (ISP), contractors, and equipment vendors.
• Research local regulations and ensure that TJS complies.
• Participate in IT project management team.
• Document network infrastructure, create and maintain disaster mitigation and recovery plan.
• Ensure security of network and provide network security training for users.
• Provide network support for other systems (digital signage, enterprise printing, access control, etc.) as assigned.
• Troubleshoot network connectivity issues and respond to incidents possibly after hours.
• Implement cybersecurity measures and observe best security practices.

Server Administration

• Install and configure servers and server-related equipment.
• Troubleshoot and respond to server connectivity issues and support users during the work day and after hours.
• Maintain records of server infrastructure and login credentials.
• Liaise and negotiate with contractors and server equipment vendors.
• Configure and update Active Directory, manage AD services.
• Ensure system security through logs, alerts, and best practices.
• Create and maintain disaster mitigation and recovery plan.
• Install and configure backups. Regularly test backup data integrity and restoration.
• Administrate other systems (digital signage, security cameras, enterprise printing, access control, etc.) as assigned.
• Maintain cloud computing resources as well as on-premise resources.
• Implement cybersecurity measures and observe best security practices.

Professional Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field.
• Minimum 3+ years IT experience.
• Interpersonal skills and professional English language ability required.
• Experience and/or certifications in cloud computing.
• Network+, CCNA, or other IT certifications preferred.
• Experience with Windows Server (2012 or higher), VMWare, Hyper-V, Linux.
• MCSA for Server 2016 or higher, AWS Solutions Architect, Server+, Linux+, or other IT certifications preferred.
• Experience working with firewalls, VPNs, Cisco routers and switches, and cabling.
