Duties/Responsibilities:

NPI Sourcing Manager: is responsible to provide accurate Product Cost and support sourcing activities to project team from G1 to G5, including but not limited to cost estimation at concept phase, execute RFQ (Request For Quotation) process and negotiate with Contract Manufacturers (CM) and suppliers, updates cost delta during development because of engineering change and minimizes the variance.

1. At G1, the NPI Sourcing Manager :

• Reviews the PRD created by the Product Manager, and provide feedback about cost and sourcing impact.
• Estimates cost based on reference monitor, AiO, screen, controller etc.
• Provides major commodity cost reference based on Elo current purchase price e.g. panel, screen, MB, etc.
• Supports engineering on RFQ preparation about commodity roadmap guideline.
• Work with team to understand new project requirement including technical request, timeline and cost.

2. At G2, the NPI Sourcing Manager:

• Checks content of VS, Create RFQ package and lead quotation/bidding and negotiate by utilizing approved suppliers to obtain reasonable cost at projected volume including NRE and Tooling cost.
• Sends RFQ to CMs and suppliers and make sure the supplier selection is compliant to global commodity strategy.
• To be strong coordinator and bridge between supplier and ELO to quickly solve issues happened during the quotation, including, but not limited to, specification issue, engineering issues from suppliers.
• Consolidates quotes from suppliers and provides analysis on RFQ comparison sheet (for standard brand new project, refer to systems and screen quote template in Appendix 1 and 2 respectively). Track material cost vs. target. Analyze price to find issues between offers among different CMs and work with cross function team including Engineering, component commodity sourcing manager and supplier to clean up issues to get most competitive price and to make sure the comparison is apple to apple.

3. Between G3 to G5, The NPI Sourcing Manager:

• Approves, communicates and agrees internally on the cost impact to awarded price, in case of any design change after EVT, especially after mechanical verificatio.
• Tries his/her best to minimize the cost variance, if design change is unavoidable.
• Updates cost tracking sheet and uploads to shared folder (e.g. Dropbox) to the project team.
• Work with Commodity Managers for new supplier set up, contract signature, audit, and define payment term (usually no later than G4).
• Input the correct first MP price in info rec at G5 and approves ECO accordingly.
• Drive supply risk mitigation from sourcing perspective, like sole sourcing mitigation for key and safety components, MOQ (Minimum Order Quantity) and lead time constraint.
• Hosts internal meeting and recommends CM selection.
• Negotiates unit cost with CMs with the alignment of CM Manager.
• Negotiates NRE fee, including amortization options.
• Confirms major commodity pricing with appropriate monthly volume.
• Decides material source and buy-sell parts.
• For major commodities especially panel, NPI sourcing manager need to get life cycle status from corresponding commodity manager or CM. Multiple sourcing for some critical components like panel, screen, motherboard, etc. or sub-components like IC, transformers, CPU, etc. is recommended for high volume critical system product.
• For standard brand new products, NPI Sourcing Manager prepares award letter with defined terms and conditions, and sends to winning CM after approval and signature by VP of Operations.

• Working experience: at least seven years’ experience in Electronic Mechanical commodity sourcing and Computer, Monitor industries.
• Good learning capability and could adapt to the fast moving business environment.
• Commitment to the task assigned.
• Active , aggressive, team spirit, self-driving and self-discipline,.
• Good communication skills in both spoken and written English.
