• Teach grades 1-5 as a movement assistant teacher

• Co-coordinate, develop and facilitate the SCIS Lower School movement program with the music and PE teachers

• Assist in the production of four concerts performances each year

• Plan, teach and assess movement lessons

• Take responsibility for professional development and current with research and developments in pedagogy and in the taught subjects.
• Understand professional responsibilities in relation to school policies, guidelines and practices
• Evaluate own teaching critically to inform professional growth
• Establish effective working relationships with colleagues and parents

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree (minimum) in music, movement/dance, fine arts, and/or theatre education

• Experience with choreographing and performance

• Experience in movement/dance instruction with recent classroom-based references

• Experience with developing and leading performances and productions

• Ability to positively motivate and manage groups of students

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, written and spoken

• Knowledge of basic health and safety procedures in a school setting

• Experience working in an international environment

• Demonstrates the following attributes: principled, open-minded, reflective

• Valid police checks

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience teaching in a PYP school

• Possess a music background and skillset in an instrument or vocal/choral training

• Previous lead classroom teaching experience with grades 1-5

• Knowledge of the use of technology to facilitate music and dance instruction
