Job Description
Key Responsibilities
- Support Merchandising Director to work with US customers / International customers and management team to establish department goals and sourcing strategies for business growth;
- Liaises with internal business users, overseeing the smooth-running of the whole merchandising process including product development, negotiation and execution of management function. Global vendor and evaluation;
- Assist to ensure department’s objectives and KPIs including FOB volumn, diversified vendor matrix, new product, and project delivery are achieved;
- Source the qualified suppliers for product of furniture, stationery or electronics product according to company requirement;
- Measures and monitors supplier performance and capability in order to make appropriate sourcing decisions, provide coaching to suppliers and reporting on metrics;
- Uses buy plans and product specifications to plan and coordinate product placement decisions by supplier and factory;
- Oversees and monitors development projects between internal business users and the merchandising team;
- Consolidates and communicates market intelligence and business opportunities to product development team in the retail markets;
- Any other assignment/project designated by the supervisor
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Management / Marketing / International trading or English;
- Minimum 8 years of solid experience in sourcing and product development of relevant products gained in MNC, leading brand, an international consumer products company or a retailer with responsibility for sourcing, product development and or operations;
- Familiar with United States and International market is a must. Preferred of having experience in general supplies, office products and electronics products;
- Strong in Sourcing, merchandising and vendor management;
- Strong technical know-how in the area of expertise;
- Excellent interpersonal and people management skills;
- Good communication, negotiation and presentation skills;
- Good time management, analytical skills and managements skills
- Good business acumen and people management
- Self-driven, result-drive, teamwork and able to work under pressure and strong sense of responsibility and customer oriented
- Must demonstrate success in recent involvement in a globalization program preferred with an outstanding record in introducing new products and transferring that knowledge;
- Must have a proven track record of integrity in past positions;
- Strong sense of urgency and customer focus;
- Must be an aggressive negotiator with strong vendor relation skills;
- Good command of English & Mandarin is must;
- Good computer skills - Excel, Word, Powerpoint, etc;
- Business trip in local China and overseas is a must
