KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Sourcing Strategy & Seasonable Supplier Selection
1. Responsible for sourcing market development, reviewing and proposing to add or exit suppliers
2. Responsible for supplier development and supplier briefing
3. Responsible for seasonal supplier evaluation and seasonal capacity blocking for production
4. Keep abreast of Customers’ needs
Sourcing, Product Development and Operation Activities
1. Responsible for assigned product categories and being the key communicator for the assigned product areas in the location.
2. Ensure satisfactory execution of all POs placed for his/ her category in order to meet all commercial KPIs: OTD, RTS, Conformity, Lead Time, etc.
3. Responsible for the sourcing activities for a business unit or several product areas.
4. Responsible for coordination of all operational activities from proto sample development , costing and production tracking
5. Responsible for Fabric and Trim development in coordination with the fabric and trim teams, ensuring they meet the required standards.
6. Responsible to follow through on all sample development. Buyers Proto to Gold Seal Sample.
7. Communicates order details and requirements to suppliers / production units and manages the whole process pre and post order placement ensuring quantity, quality, order specification and delivery dates are achieved.
8. Lead or Assist in Price Negotiation with suppliers as designated by the Sourcing Product Manager with the support of Senior Merchandiser (if any).
9. Provide clarity and input to the line manager and cross functional parties (eg: QA/TSM Teams) on order status and supplier capabilities.
10. Track orders critical path, forecast delays and course correct if needed with proactive action plans to ensure On Time Delivery.
11. Identify and diagnose production problems and work with suppliers to present alternatives to buyers and line managers.
12. Support the SSC teams in ensuring that suppliers adhere to SSC requirements and corrective plans.
TEAM / SUPERVISION
Merchandisers supervises Assistant Merchandiser and monitors order tracking activities to meet quantity, quality and on time delivery.

REQUISITE EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Diploma holder in Fashion & Textiles
2. Merchandisers. 3-5 years of experience in the relevant product category.
