We are now looking for you to come and join our Medical & Regulatory NOBA team in the role as Medical Team Lead Metabolic within Medical Affairs Cardiovascular Renal Metabolic (CVRM). Location of the role is in Södertälje, Copenhagen, Oslo or Helsinki.

The role

 
In the role as Medical Team Lead you have a field-based position responsible for the operational excellence of the field-based Metabolic Medical Advisor team in support of scientific leadership for AstraZeneca within the Nordic Medical CVRM team.

You play a critical role as manager, coach and leader to the Medical Advisors by providing operational guidance along with skills & capability training in accordance with global/regional/local standards, relevant job descriptions, NOBA SOP for External Interactions and the Global MSL standard.

The Medical Team Lead must not have commercial objectives or measures. However, you and your management may communicate strategic objectives and Key Performance Indicators to commercial stakeholders to ensure alignment. You interact with KEE’s as part of co-visits with e.g. Medical Advisors or can do it individually dependent on the Medical Activity Plan and business priorities.

Additionally, as regional Medical Affairs expert you engage in high quality scientific and clinical exchange on current licensed medicines and pipeline. You can also cover Medical Advisor tasks if relevant.

You report to the Medical Affairs Director, CVRM.

In order to succeed in this role, you have:

  • Master’s Degree in life sciences, MD or a related discipline and specific experience within CVRM with special focus on diabetes and/or other relevant metabolic disorders 
  • Experience from customer facing roles
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry preferably in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development
  • Strong leadership and management capabilities
  • Experience in product launch or strategy development and execution 
  • Pro-active mindset with respect to engaging external stakeholders (e.g. HCPs) 
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams 
  • Demonstrated expertise in discussing scientific content and context to a variety of audiences
  • Established project management ability 
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent knowledge in English language and fluent in at least one of the Nordics (S, N, DK) languages 
  • Excellent understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, health care systems and payer structures in the Nordic countries
  • Willingness to travel regularly across the Nordic region
