We are looking for a Medical Excellence Manager to come and join our Medical-Regulatory department in the NOBA MC.

The role

For the role as Medical Excellence Manager we are looking for a team member with innovative mindset, solid Medical Affairs experience that is proven to be a good cross-functional collaborator.

The Medical Excellence Manager is an office-based position responsible to drive medical excellence to support the scientific leadership and partnership of AstraZeneca.

The Medical Excellence Manager is working with capability building, coaching, systems and processes above therapeutic areas (TA) across the Medical department. The Medical Excellence Manager serve as a link between the global Medical Excellence organization and the NOBA MC. The Medical Excellence Manager is responsible for implementing global, regional and local Medical Excellence deliverables in line with NOBA needs and as agreed with the Medical-Regulatory Leadership team.

The Medical Excellence Manager is a member of the Medical Affairs team and reports to VP Medical-Regulatory. The Medical Excellence works closely with medical leaders to ensure identification and alignment of needs and priorities. In addition, the Medical Excellence manager works seamlessly with our Innovation and Business Excellence team to secure cross-functional synergies.

The Medical Excellence Manager can participate on an agenda-driven basis in local cross-functional team as well as functional teams including the Medical-Regulatory leadership team.

Accountabilities

  • Responsible for in a systematic way implement coaching tools/programs for all medical roles as applicable, including cascading global initiatives as appropriate
  • Diagnosing above-TA training needs in collaboration with medical team members and our Innovation and Business Excellence team.
  • Plan to achieve AstraZeneca’s goal of being recognised as a scientific leader and partner in the pharma industry within core TAs through coaching/training in line with team and individual development plans.
  • Responsible expert for all medical systems and processes including but not limited to: medical CRM system, capability development tool, ensuring optimal implementation and use of performance standards and metrics, capability measures development of reports and dashboards, medical activity planning framework.
  • Responsible for setting up CRM reporting to enable continuous evaluation of field medical KPIs.

In order to succeed you have

  • Bachelor’s Degree in life sciences or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in pharmaceutical industry preferably in Medical Affairs or Clinical Development
  • Skilled in the areas of coaching and indirect leadership within medical
  • Innovative mindset
  • Tech savvy and substantial experience using medical CRM system(s)
  • Established project management skills including ability to work in cross-functional setting
  • Excellent communication skills and excellent knowledge in English language and fluent in at least one of the Nordic languages
  • Ability to travel
  • Driver’s license required
