AstraZeneca has long tradition of personalized treatment in oncology with a broad portfolio and exciting pipeline. With new indications ahead, the lung cancer franchise is growing and looking for a field-based Medical Advisor Lung Cancer to join the team in Denmark.
The role
As Medical Advisor Lung Cancer, you will be responsible for medical/scientific activities for AstraZeneca’s marketed products and compounds in development. In this role you will translate scientific knowledge and insights into strategies that drive decision making and support business success.
Externally, you provide scientific information in assigned product and/or disease area and conduct presentations in a non-promotional context, engage in scientific collaborations, lead projects and activities, and support clinical studies and potential HCP initiated clinical research.
You are a core partner for internal multidisciplinary teams as scientific specialist in lung cancer, both at local and Nordic/Baltic level. You provide medical expertise to product strategies, cross-functional plans and activities.
Reporting to the Nordic Medical Team Lead Lung Cancer, Medical Affairs Department, you will join a growing team of dedicated Medical Advisors in Oncology.
What you will do
- Partner with HCPs and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate use of established and future AZ products
- Facilitate medical/scientific exchange activities to increase comprehension of clinical data
- Provide input into study concepts and work closely with investigators to generate data to inform clinical practice
- Support scientific programs that explore unmet medical needs
- Assure quality and outputs are in accordance with written procedures and current legal requirements and internal standards
In order to succeed, you have
We are seeking a person with Master´s degree in medicine, pharmacy or other relevant Life Science (required). Expertise in oncology and a MD and/or PhD with clinical experience and/or a few years’ experience from medical affair roles is preferred.
- Proven expertise in understanding, assimilating, and communicating scientific content
- Entrepreneurial and co-operative approach to engaging with external stakeholders as well as cross-functional colleagues
- Ability to travel and driver’s license required
You have experience from working in cross-functional teams, a patient focused approach and integrity in customer interactions. Good planning and organizational skills and an ability to achieve results without compromising quality is required.
Your expertise in discussing scientific content and context to a variety of audiences is essential for the role as is an understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, health care systems and payer structures in the Nordic countries.
