Description:

The Tank Farm Material Handler is a position reporting to Senior Warehouse Facilitator with the duties to handle, transfer and sampling Hazardous and Non-Hazardous chemicals from tanker trucks, tanks, drums.  Load and unload tankers trucks, trailers and transports as well as handling all warehouse related tasks, inventory and housekeeping aspects of operations.  This position includes the function to perform SAP transactions for shipping, receiving and transferring of materials.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Understand and comply with all applicable SOPs, GMPs and department/site guidelines to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. (OSHA, FDA, DEA, FTZ etc.)
  • Safely and proficiently operate multiple types of Powered Industrial Trucks (PITs).
  • Immediately report and help investigate any PIT incident/accident.
  • Complete daily PIT safety check lists.
  • Safely charge batteries for PITs.
  • Load and unload trucks, common carriers and tankers by means of pumps and other transfer methods, warehouse trucks are unloaded forklift and other required equipment/Operating hand tools.
  • Transfer Hazardous and Non-Hazardous chemicals or waste into appropriate containers, labeling and storage.
  • Pull samples from tanker, or portable vessels to the correct bulk tank, tanker and transport.
  • Monitors tank farm levels using HMI system and coordinate schedule tank farm tankers based on production schedule.
  • Perform all system transactions and updates including BOL, MRR, MMC, POD, DFR, etc. and complete any written documentation required to support these processes or forms.
  • Ship and receive products according to company’s procedures and requirements including DOT regulations.
  • Safely and proficiently operate all non-PIT equipment including hand pallet jacks, pallet exchange machine, pallet stretch wrappers and pallet banding machine.
  • Communication with drivers, customers and other personnel is a requirement of the position.
  • Perform warehouse duties as assigned or directed.

Other Duties:

  • Perform all housekeeping tasks necessary to keep work areas clean and organized.
  • Assist in various cycle counting and location audit activities.
  • Perform all warehouse duties related to receiving, shipping and storage of direct materials (raw material, WIP and finished goods).
  • Understand and be able to communicate Bill of Lading information with outside truck drivers and carriers.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED required
  • 2 years experience with chemical truck tankers and tankers, including hazardous waste management.
  • Forklift and DOT training.
  • Successful completion of PIT Safety Training Course including certification on all types of equipment utilized by the warehouse
  • Ability to meet requirements for Dangerous Goods certification

Preferred Background:

  • Shipping and receiving experience in temperature-controlled material.
  • SAP ERP Warehouse Management experience
  • HMI system experience

  • Ability to respond to emergencies and direct Emergency Response Teams
  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment
  • Accountability and punctuality
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
  • Ability to operate a sit-down forklift safely and securely
  • Ability to wear facial respirators, protective suits and other PPE
  • Able to be exposed to the elements for 80% of time at work
  • Ability to lift up to and including 60 lbs.
