Job Description

ELG’s Marketing Department oversees internal and external marketing for ELG. Internal marketing includes but is not limited to ELG event invitations for families and staff, yearbook production, office content and signage design, business card design, and name badge design. External marketing includes building relationships with external channels, such as media, schools, medical facilities, and community groups. The Marketing Department creates promotional materials such as brochures, flyers, and giveaways (e.g. shopping bags, mugs, pens, notepads), as well educational written and graphic content. It supports recruitment of staff and families to use ELG services by attending events, digital marketing (including maintaining the website, SEO, and social media accounts), and strategically advertising. The department, in collaboration with other departments, helps to organize and promote events such as educational seminars, professional development days, and professional networking events.

The Marketing Director oversees ELG’s Marketing Department with the purpose of controlling ELG’s public image and reputation, while increasing the number of inquiries and referrals. The Director represents ELG online and at events, actively seeking out opportunities to increase public awareness of ELG’s offerings. They are in charge of communications, branding, digital and print marketing, events, partnerships, and outreach. As a member of the Management Team, they contribute to organizational direction, policies, and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities:
  • Management

    • Supervises and mentors department staff

    • Provides opportunities for professional development for staff, including leading quarterly training

    • Point of contact for any ELG employee looking to share feedback or ask questions about policies or other organizational decisions

    • Participates as a member of the management team, providing input into planning, policies, and procedures, critically considering decisions from a marketing and PR perspective

  • Financial

    • Propose biannual budget

    • Ensure spending is within approved budgets, reviewing all department spending to ensure efficiency

  • Strategy

    • Maintain and revise ELG marketing strategy, including digital marketing, events, marketing materials, and recruitment marketing

    • Identify strategic relationships and partnerships, holding directly or assigning to other staff when appropriate

    • Create and maintain relationships with media, working with other department staff to provide content, invitations, interviews, etc

    • Provide media briefs for senior staff at higher profile events led by ELG or external

  • Branding

    • Ensure consistent brand image and voice across all ELG digital and physical content, presentations, environment, and products

    • Responsible for any changes to brand guidelines, including writing guidelines

  • Outreach

    • Represents ELG externally at community and professional events, including on-stage presence

    • Leads presentations or meetings for potential partners, volunteers, staff, etc
