As a
member of the Oracle Developer Marketing team, the Developer Community Manager role
is to engage with the developer audience, including Oracle User Group members
and leaders, 3rd party developer advocates, and net-new developers. The Developer Community Manager uses a
combination of online and offline tactics and skills to connect with both
enterprise and citizen developers alike.
Position
Description
· Attend developer events both
virtually and in-person to engage with attendees and speakers. Deliver sessions about Oracle’s developer
community and advocacy programs, and evangelize for Oracle Cloud
Infrastructure, Oracle Autonomous Database, and other Oracle developer technologies.
· Recruit candidates for Oracle’s
developer advocacy programs, at times mentoring those who want to be more involved.
· Develop amplification plans and
execute on them to promote Oracle events and programs, User Group conferences
and Groundbreaker Tours, and other programs.
Examples include organic social media, blogging, and videos.
· Produce videos, podcast and
blogs, with occasional off-schedule programs interviewing thought leaders and
niche experts. Record and edit
discussions, write, edit and publish the affiliated blog.
· Publish monthly newsletter
focusing on modern software development – soliciting timely and appropriate
content from throughout Oracle, review, edit and submit for publishing.
· Be one of the faces of the
Oracle developer community, recording videos both virtually and in person with Oracle
employees and community members
· Engage with the growing Oracle
ecosystem on social media.
Requirements
and Skills Desired
· Have 10 years community and
developer marketing, developer relations, or evangelism experience. Must know that unique intersection between
technology, developer and marketing.
· Experience working for
companies in enterprise technology, cloud infrastructure or Java development, open
source or the application development world.
· Must know how to write for the
developer audience, both in tone and content.
· Flexibility and creativity for
working cross team and engaging with a diverse and global group of people.

Evaluates and manages new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures. Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business objectives. Defines vision, strategies, and tactics. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Primarily a resource/ allocation role, coordinating the daily activities of a work group and setting priorities to ensure task completion. Supervises within prescribed procedures with management review and approval. Maintains orderly work processes by coordinating work flow and work quality. Provides technical/functional leadership, as well as first line supervision, but does not have hire/fire authority. Uses individual knowledge and skills to develop team members.
