Core Responsibilities

  • The Insights Manager will be a strategic consultant helping to drive the overall insights agenda for the CHINA region, encompassing the full value chain across both consumer, market and shopper.
  • This position will be focused on insight consultancy, delivering strategic, action-oriented insights that will enable business partners to make key business decisions to advance the commercial agenda for The LEGO Group.
  • This role will encompass both primary and secondary research, depending on the need of the business; while the focus will be on the CHINA region, this role will also potentially work on projects in other key market areas and within our product development as needed.
  • A part of the responsibility will also be to drive insight expertise by leveraging advances in new research methodologies and data sources in a China context.
  • Further to this the role will be part of a team responsible for driving insights innovation in a market region relatively new to the LEGO Group and where the insights base is emerging.
  • Success in this role will require an individual who is comfortable with a constantly-changing agenda, navigation through ambiguity, and an acute ability to help business partners understand how insights can be optimally leveraged to address their key business questions. In China understanding needs to span across geographic regions and city tiers is key.
  • Individuals interested in this role should ideally possess a solid understanding of core market research skills, including strong fluency with qualitative and quantitative data, insights narrative development, external research vendor management, strong insights consultancy capabilities and stakeholder management expertise.

The Global Insights (GI) department aims to shape the LEGO Group’s future through inspiring and enabling transformational action. This is done by assuring that the LEGO Group takes a starting point in a strong and shared insights base and by delivering an impactful insights consultancy and partnership to the business fostering an audience first and insights led decision making.
The Markets & Shoppers Insights team is global and multicultural, focusing on championing insights as a catalyst for the LEGO Group’s sustainable growth globally.
This is done by:
  • Strategic Insights Consultancy and decision enabling for our business partners.
  • Ownership and creation of the Global Shopper and Global Market insights agenda as well as generation of market, consumer and shopper insights.
  • Holistic, synthesized and commercial insights for key business milestones.
  • Co-ownership of transformational cross functional and global projects across the Marketing Value Chain in the LEGO Group.
  • Team members working in key LEGO Hubs around the world.

Do you have what it takes?

  • Master’s Degree preferred in economics, marketing, psychology, or a related discipline.
  • Min of 5 years of primary and secondary market research experience, either consulting/agency or manufacturer side.
  • Preferably high level of comfort with quantitative/qualitative data analysis and interpretation.
  • Strong project ownership, result orientation and accountability.
  • Preferably diverse array of experience across various primary market research tools/methodologies.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills to effectively deliver insights to stakeholder audiences.
  • Experience across market, consumer and shopper research is preferred.
  • Must be able to travel in CHINA or abroad 30-60 days per year.

  • Advanced/Intermediate Mandarin – Level 10-16
  • Preferably; Advanced English written and spoken – Level 13-16
