ME-C = Manufacturing Engineer Tool & Components

Hella is developing and manufacturing lighting products like Head lamps and Rear lamps for domestic and international automotive customers in China.

During the development phase we have a core team with different functions that is responsible from Quotation Phase to SOP Start of production.

The ME-C is part of the core team he has a role of a sub Project manager for the industrialization and qualification of the components that are required to assemble the Lighting Product. The majority of the components are plastic parts.

Detailed description

In the different phases of the project the ME-C has the following main tasks

• Collect and summarize quotation information about product specific tools and fixture cost, cycle times and scrap rates working hours of support team members etc.

• Coordinate the feasibility check for component production.

• After start of design, coordinate the Design For Manufacturing checks, participate in the concept and the design release.

• Prepare outsourcing part specification,.

• Prepare Production work flow/routing, production BOM, PFMEA

• Coordinate tooling order and kick off.

• Track tooling and fixture progress.

• Coordinate Tool trials at tool supplier and in house.

• Lead the tool and fixture optimization process, with the support of Tool -and production Engineers. Release tools and fixtures.

• Lead the components optimization process in close collaboration with the Manufacturing Engineer Assembly, Quality Planner, Quality Production Customer Engineer and the supporting tool fixture and production Engineers.

• Lead the Production implementation and maturity, with regards to cycle time and scrap with the support of production engineers and production representatives.

• Prepare single component ISIR/PPAP

• Prepare Full Run test, Full run, Run@Rate etc .

• Participate in the preparation for Customer and in house audits.

• Prepare the hand hover to Serial Production.

Specific Requirements

• Bachelor or Master Degree or alternatively proven record in similar role.

• Min 3 year experience as an ME-C or process planner or production Engineer in the automotive industry or alternatively experience as an injection moulding engineer, Tool Engineer.

• Good English speaking (requirement for international projects)

• Willingness to travel to Europe
