This is a fixed-term contract position of minimum 2 years with possibility for renewal subject to organization need and individual performance.

The incumbent is responsible for ensuring that the works are built in accordance with the best practice and in compliance with the prevailing regulations in order to achieve the project objectives in a safe manner.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a team of Construction Safety Engineers, Inspectors and Superintendents to oversee contractors’ safety across multiple contracts;
• Enforce safety rules and provide technical advice in the overall management and supervision of safety and health;
• Coordinate with project managers and contractors, act as the safety advisor and promote safety and health;
• Ensure staff receive appropriate and necessary training for their works;
• Monitor contractors’ safety performance;
• Proactively manage hazards and risks, resolve safety related issues and mitigate potential hazards in an effective and efficient manner; and
• Manage the safety review on design works in progress

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or other related disciplines
• Member of Institution of Occupational Safety and Health (MIOSH) or other related safety association is preferred
• Registered Safety Officer (RSO) with the Labour Department and completion of formal training on Safety Auditor
• At least 12 years’ experience in large multi-disciplinary construction projects, of which a minimum of 8 years post-RSO experience in the field of safety and health within the construction industry
• Well versed with occupational safety and health legislations and practices
• Good command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Knowledge of Putonghua is an advantage
• Proficient in MS Office applications
• Holder of a valid HK driving license (Class 1, 2) is preferred
