The School of Business and Management of HKUST is seeking an experienced communications professional to join the External & Alumni Relations (EAR) Team. The appointee will support the Head of EAR Team to promote the School. His/Her major responsibilities include:

(i)     Implementing marketing and branding strategies in promoting the School through traditional media and social media;

(ii)    Managing and advising on various online campaigns and digital projects, including website maintenance and enhancement, revamp and analysis;

(iii)     Creating written and video content for digital platforms and other communications materials;

(iv)     Handling media enquiries and engaging with media to promote positive stories and thought leadership of the School;

(v)      Organizing or supporting a wide range of stakeholder engagement activities, including talks and conferences; ceremonies and webinars, and performing any other ad hoc duties as assigned.

Applicants should have a bachelor's degree in communications, journalism or related disciplines with at least 7 years of relevant work experience in corporate, marketing communications and/or journalism gained in sizable organizations. An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua) with a strong sense of responsibility as well as good media connections are prerequisites. A good command of new media at operational level and experience in website and digital projects are required. Applicants should be confident in working with people from diverse backgrounds; self-motivated; detail-minded, and able to work independently and under pressure. Working experience in agency or university is an advantage but not a must. Working outside normal office hours is required. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
