The Office of the Vice-President for Research and Development is seeking a capable and experienced individual with strong administrative and communication skills to fill the position of Manager.
The appointee will assist the Head, Research Policy and Special Projects in the formulation and execution of research policies; administer new research initiatives; and work with University research institutes and centers to enhance the development of its research infrastructure. He/She will support the functions of university-level committees, including organizing committee meetings, and drafting meeting papers and reports. He/She will also spearhead and coordinate research partnerships, research outreach and promotion.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree with at least 12 years’ relevant post-qualification work experience. Experience in policy formulation and implementation, and in committee secretariat work will be an advantage.
The appointee should have a strong sense of responsibility and commitment, the ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously, and good project management skills. He/She should be able to work under pressure independently and flexibly in order to meet tight timeline. The ability to liaise and interact well with internal and external stakeholders and partners is preferred. The ideal candidate should be a good team player with good communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua) is required. (Duration: 2 year, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
