Reporting to the Senior Manager (Communications & Content), the post holder will assist in the development, execution, and delivering of compelling content that speaks to HKUST’s stakeholders at global level. Specifically, the appointee will be overseeing the editorial content for the University’s website, official publications, and communications materials including but not limited to news articles, e-newsletters, annual report, honorary degree citations, and presidential communications. The appointee will also be required to perform administrative tasks for the team.
Applicants should have a bachelor’s degree in communications, linguistics or related field with a minimum of 7 years of experience preferably in a tertiary education/corporate environment focusing on writing and/or editorial responsibilities. Experience in digital content marketing and multimedia content production is a plus. Successful candidate must demonstrate superb writing capabilities, including an ability to write quickly, persuasively, clearly on a variety of subjects in English with impeccable grammar. Excellent command of written Chinese is a must, and high level of proficiency in Simplified Chinese is a definite advantage. To excel in this role, he/she must be a critical and curious thinker who is able to work independently in a rapid-response and team environment. He/She should also be highly flexible and proactive, and good at analyzing problematical situations and re-prioritizing responsibilities. (Duration: 2 years, renewable)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of contract.
