Senior Medical Science Liaison – Allergy/Asthma

Job Description

The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) position is within the Allergy/Asthma with Field Medical team and will interact with healthcare decision makers to communicate and advance the scientific platform as aligned with Amgen’s corporate goals and objectives and the MSL team from Astra-Zeneca (AZ). As part of the Allergy/Asthma Field Medical Education team, this position will provide a pathway for the escalation and expanded response to unsolicited questions in. The Allergy/Asthma Sr. MSL will work on a team level in collaboration with the Amgen-AZ Alliance and internal stakeholders to identify, develop and execute innovative medical education programs.

The Sr. MSL will:

  • Be a field-based medical expert supporting the cross-functional medical educational activities aligned with internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide accurate, clear and value related information communicating complex cutting edge science and product information to multiple levels of stakeholders within the medical community
  • Align with MSL/Medical leadership to develop innovative and nontraditional MSL strategies and tactics in support of the TA products and pipeline molecules
  • Model openness and innovation through words, actions and decisions
  • Share learnings including entrepreneurial and innovative ideas with others and hold themselves self-accountable for performance
  • Provide field observations to internal medical stakeholders
  • Represent Amgen by supporting advisory boards, congresses and professional association meetings as directed
  • Support internal cross-functional commercial, marketing and brand stakeholders training and activities as requested
  • Seek out opportunities to support the MSL value proposition, achieve results and set an example for others to follow by consistently demonstrating Amgen Values and Leadership Attributes
  • Support Amgen-sponsored research and clinical trial site involvement as determined by MSL/Medical leadership and Global Development Operations
  • Foster compliant cross-functional collaboration and communication with commercial and value/access field management

Basic Qualifications

  • Doctorate Level Degree and 3+ years of MSL experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered)
  • Clinical experience in the Allergy/Asthma therapeutic space
  • 5 or more years industry experience in Scientific/Medical Affairs at a biotech or pharmaceutical company
  • 5 or more years in a medically-related field which can include post-doctoral training (i.e. residencies and/or fellowships)
  • Asthma/Allergy expertise
