About the Job
The Shanghai Office representative has to keep his/her finger on the pulse of multiple marketing efforts. Candidate must be able to work using their own initiative and have flexible attitude to the job. This position suits someone who is looking to grow within a marketing and promotion position. Duties will include establishing relationships with stakeholders, managing promotions, servicing trade enquiries, market research, assisting in market intelligence. Constant and clear communications with management in home country is required.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree is required, preferably in marketing.
- Experience working in marketing, advertising, PR or communications industry (5+ years). Those who has more than 2 years’ experience in the rubber or related industries, i.e. medical gloves, condoms, rubber automotive components, rubber engineering products, distribution, trading, etc will be an added advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Competency in using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint and other relevant computer programmes.
- Positive can-do-attitude, team player and multi-tasker.
- Able to perform basic finance and administrative duties, and working independently.
- Good strategic and marketing acumen.
- Proficient in English and the national language of the country where the candidate intended to be based.
Key Tasks
- Develop strategies and plans that are in line with the organization’s directions to facilitate and promote the export of quality Malaysian rubber products in China.
- Identify market opportunities and enhance market access of Malaysian rubber products in China.
- Monitor and analyze import volumes and market share trends as well as gathering market intelligence on rubber products and other related industries in China as well as to provide recommendations whenever necessary.
- Analyze the effectiveness of marketing and promotions initiatives and offering recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate the execution of advertising and public relations efforts, including identifying and vetting potential marketing/PR agencies, and on-boarding/managing these agencies, as well as media buying and issuing communications briefs, if necessary.
- Identify issues and challenges related to rubber products and other related industries in China and recommend appropriate course of action.
- Handle and manage trade inquiries from Malaysian exporters and foreign buyers, and update the database on importers and distributors of rubber products in China.
- Provide regular updates on China trade policies such as tariffs, standards and regulatory requirements for medical devices, automotive and other sectors/industries as well as technical market requirements which are likely to affect the Malaysian rubber products trade in China.
- Maintain contacts and liaise with regulatory bodies and other relevant parties to ensure new ruling, regulations or gazetted information provide balanced treatment on Malaysian rubber products.
- Create and manage the budget to drive impact through marketing and promotion programs.
- Liaise and cooperate with the officers based in the headquarters and other cities in China to streamline all market promotion efforts and activities.
- Any other tasks and responsibilities as assigned from time to time.
