Key Responsibilities
Working with other lawyers in the Office of the General Counsel of the HKMA, to provide legal advice on all aspects of the work of the HKMA’s Resolution Office including:

• Development of rules and guidance to be issued by the HKMA under the Financial Institutions (Resolution) Ordinance
• Resolution planning for banking sector entities
• Contingency planning for the possible use of the HKMA’s statutory resolution tools
• Development of the HKMA’s operational capability for executing orderly resolution
• External engagement with key stakeholders on resolution

Requirements

• Duly admitted as a legal practitioner in a recognized jurisdiction as stipulated under the Legal Officers Ordinance
• At least two years of post qualification experience preferably with background in the law relating to banking, insolvency, corporate restructuring or resolution or in administrative law
• General understanding of the financial services industry and financial markets
• Good command of written and spoken English; proficiency in Cantonese and Putonghua an advantage
• Good analytical skill, and highly motivated with ability to manage competing priorities and work to deadlines
