We are currently seeking a Lead Data Center Infrastructure Specialist to be part of our Infrastructure Center of Excellence. This role will be based out of our location in Louisville or Simpsonville, KY. This is a technical position that is a lead on the design, implementation, support and delivery of solutions for data center IT infrastructure equipment within the data center. This role requires a broad operational understanding of the of the IT technology which resides in the data center; this includes hyperconverged solutions, servers, network, storage and security devices as well as an understanding of physical layer connectivity technologies. Must have a general understanding of electrical / mechanical infrastructure which supports the data center. This role also requires an in-depth understanding of all safety policies to ensure all activities within the data center are performed in a safe and efficient manner. Job Responsibilities Leads and provides direct support for all requirements in the physical planning, coordination, cabling, and installation of IT equipment. Supervise the installation of IT equipment by our suppliers. Designs technical solutions and collaborates with Infrastructure teams on complex requirements for infrastructure placement, network requirements and installation in the DC. Develops and promotes data center technology standards. Ensures project requirements are met and any design risks are highlighted. Manages customer and external supplier deliverables. Projects are typically larger in scope of deployment and more complex with budget across multiple technical disciplines. Prepares detailed design documents for data center infrastructure area and costing for designs. Collaborate with all of IT across functional areas to identify and design solutions following IT strategy. Efficiently identifies solutions that will likely deliver the best results Participate with Project team in design, documentation, development, production rollout and support. Identifies alternatives to resolve business needs. List pros and cons for each alternative. Presents alternatives to supervisor for selection. Uses appropriate tools to apply analysis techniques. Qualifications Basic (Minimum) Qualifications: High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution is required. Minimum 7 years of data center experience is required. Candidate must be authorized to work in the US on a continuous basis without company sponsorship This position requires use of information or access to hardware which may be subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee. No relocation is offered for this position. Candidate must live within a 50 mile radius of Louisville, KY or Simpsonville, KY to be considered. Position Criteria: Experience of successfully delivering on all aspects of a data center technology projects. Exposure to several layers of technology solutions: hardware, application administration, application development, support, etc. Requires the ability to work on multiple projects of complex scope and a larger scale. Ability to effectively adapt to rapidly changing technology and apply it to business needs. Ability to solve problems independently, quickly, and completely, and to communicate them clearly to upper management. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical discipline such as: B.S. Comp Sci / Mathematics / Engineering or other related fields. Operational knowledge in Data Center IT technology. Excellent proficiency with the English language (written and verbal). Additional language capabilities are a plus.
