Job Description

Great that you're thinking about a career with BSI!

Purpose of the position

BSI Knowledge Solutions is developing a portfolio of research and pilots that will help inform its strategic goal of ‘Digital Transformation of standards development’. We are now looking for additional support with various activities relating to this programme.

The Knowledge Innovation Analyst will play a key role in supporting the Principal, Knowledge Innovation and other senior stakeholders to deliver a programme of work relating to this goal. The right candidate will demonstrate strong analytical skills, technical literacy (preferably with a publishing background) and excellent stakeholder management skills.

The core purpose of the role will be to:

  • Design and document hypotheses to be tested
  • Develop methods for testing these hypotheses
  • Assess the results of these tests and work with stakeholders to determine impacts on our standards development process, workflows, market channels and digital strategy

The core tasks of the role are anticipated as:

  • Research, both desk-based and through activities with stakeholders into both the required actions for digital transformation and the impacts of that transformation
  • Analysis of research, briefs, policy statements and stakeholder documentation to form hypotheses for validation
  • Work with the Sector and Services teams to gather evidence and support the development of strategies and projects that accelerate our digital transformation programme
  • Work with the Product team and Innovation functions across BSI to scope, run and support pilots in a way that supports our growing evidence base
  • Document and report findings in a way that supports a ‘next best action’ recommendation
  • Communicate outcomes to support engagement and buy-in from stakeholders

The Knowledge Innovation Analysis will be responsible for maintaining a ‘hypothesis matrix’, tracking activity and assessing the quality of several pilots and projects that will be targeting one or more of these hypotheses. They will analyse the impacts on stakeholders of these pilots and help prepare reports to inform decisions as to their wider rollout. They will be responsible for building and maintaining a dashboard measuring progress against our end goals and ensuring pilot coverage across key dimensions.

The role will work closely with product managers, content analysts, data analysts, process specialists, standards development professionals and developers to ensure acceptance criteria are defined for our hypotheses, including validating with customers and suppliers as necessary.

The role requires analysing and responding to briefs, policy statements and areas for exploration using independent research or design thinking methods as appropriate. The reports and analysis that they produce will be used to inform key business decisions, so accuracy and consistency of communications are key.

The role would suit someone who is both a team player and capable of sustained independent work.
