Job Description
Siemens Mobility in Louisville is looking for an Inventory Control Specialist that is diligent with a focus on processes, root cause analysis and has a sharp eye for problem-solving. To thrive in this role, you’ve worked with and have engaged multiple departments to achieve a common goal – you’re a people person who takes the initiative to get things streamlined & operating like clockwork! You will be responsible for activities and processes related to inventory control - including coordinating the cycle count program, leading all aspects of the use of Kardex machines, production order control and maintenance, and engaging with the VMI/bulk program, and scheduling product orders. This position will report directly to the Production Manager and will interact closely with the production floor employees, scheduling, logistics, quality, and other departments that collaborate with Operations daily. Responsibilities Determine strategic count strategy Coordinate the counts and recounts with Storeroom Personnel Investigate, reconcile, and investigate the root cause of incorrect counts – approve once corrected! Maintain monthly metrics and reports Ensure location codes in SAP are updated accordingly. Work closely with the Storeroom and Receiving Personnel to maintain location control. Oversee the use of the Kardex/PowerPick to ensure completed transactions Ensure the interface between SAP and PowerPick is working correctly and connect with the proper support personnel when issues arise Ensure material is appropriately issued and perform any vital cleanup activities Perform production order updates Work with the VMI/bulk material program administrator to coordinate with the shop floor regarding bin sizes, stock-outs, spike orders, etc. Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent Intermediate knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Excel – you should be savvy with V-lookups Basic knowledge of other Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word) Proven experience in an inventory/manufacturing role Have the willingness and ability to jump from task to task Keep track of orders that are in process and reminders for those required at incremental times during the year A plus is previous use of Kardex/PowerPick or other similar automated storage and retrieval solutions.
