l To be responsible for planning and facilitating creative and engaging learning, in a highly inclusive
environment;
l To be able to use formative assessment to inform planning and deliver a personalised curriculum
for each child;
l To develop a nurturing and safe environment in which children thrive in their learning;
l To develop an environment of inquiry, where students’ questions are valued and lead their
learning journey;
l To develop excellent relationships with parents and the wider community, through regular and
effective communication;
l To have and develop further a range of techniques to cater for English Language Learners;
l To deliver appropriately-planned lessons, learning encounters, sequences of lessons and
programmes of study;
l To have a detailed and up-to-date knowledge and understanding of examination board assessment
and syllabus requirements
l To offer regular and constructive feedback to help students close the gap between where they are
now, and where they wish to be;
l To challenge each student to be the best they can be, supporting them to reach their full potential;
l To be committed to the ongoing development of a holistic, child-centred curriculum, drawing on
best practice from around the world;
l Have a keen focus the approaches to learning taken by students, creating an engaging learning
environment where they can learn independently, challenge their own thinking, think creatively
and solve problems;
l Ensure that the learning environment is a place of full inclusivity, differentiating learning to support
individual needs;
l Maintain marking and assessment records and have a clear understanding of students’ progress in
learning;
l Demonstrate proactive and positive ways of supporting students where barriers are found;
l Effectively support each student’s personal, social and emotional development;
l Take an active role as a Personal Tutor to a group of tutees within a school Grade;
l Participate fully in the life of the school, including actively supporting cocurricular activities
(Enrichment), duties such as supervision, evening prep, guided reading and Boarding House life;
l Engage in positive behaviour management to ensure a caring and respectful environment;
Requirements of the role:
l Native English speaker
l Holder of bachelor’s degree in relevant subject with teaching certificate or license
l Minimum 5 years of full-time teaching experience in a school setting, with experience or training
in IB/PYP
l Have passion for teaching students
l Demonstrate rigorous approach in teaching different year levels
l Excellent communication and organizing skills
l Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated commitment in teamwork
l Previous experience in subject leadership role is a plus
