Patents, Trademarks and Design give Audi exclusive rights to its progressive technology, powerful trademarks and unique design. They are strategic assets in Audi’s pursuit for technology and design leadership and for customer perception as the number one premium car brand in China. We prosecute these intellectual property rights (IPRs) for Audi in China and enforce them to protect Audi against technology theft, abusive trademark use and design plagiarism.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- formally preparing and handling correspondence with and submissions to law firms and IP authorities;
- calculating, recording and monitoring internal and external (official) due dates in the IP matters handled by the department, such as priority or nationalization deadlines;
- keeping records of all IP-related proceedings, including correspondence, submissions, official notifications, payments etc.;
- handling of inventors remuneration, including acceptance of applications, checking and forwarding to payroll for pay-out;
- handling IP-related purchasing matters, including set-up of vendors for payment, acceptance and checking of invoices and forwarding to C/F and
- managing and continuously improving internal and external IP-related processes.
- preparing opinions and giving advice on general and case-related questions of intellectual property law;
- monitoring relevant changes in the IP law and notifying stakeholders;
- research on questions of IP law and judicial practice in the IP field and
- supporting IP Professionals in prosecution and litigation of intellectual property rights:
- handling of invention notifications, including search, assessment, filing decision;
- prosecution of IPR applications;
- handling of administrative proceedings in IP matters and
- IP database searches and data analysis.
- IP professionals (patent attorneys) within the department;
- All departments of AUDI CHINA;
- IP Paralegals in headquarter IP department;
- Audi China Legal department and
- External partners and law firms.
Qualifications
Education Background
- university degree in engineering, law or IP-related field;
- education or working experience in the field of intellectual property law
- Competence in both technology and intellectual property law;
- MS office skills (Word, Excel, Powerpoint);
- Solid office computer skills
- High motivation, proactive work attitude
- Strong process-orientation and organization skills
- Good communication and social skills
- Preferably knowledge of national and international intellectual property processes
- Advanced skills in Chinese and English
- Basic skills in German desired
