The Center is looking for an Instructional Assistant to support faculty members at the University to foster students’ innovative mind-sets and design cornerstone design courses and programs of engineering disciplines.

The appointee is expected to:

• ŸAssist course instructors in developing major components of new cornerstone design courses for first year engineering students;
• ŸDesign and conduct technical skills training modules;
• ŸFacilitate students’ learning both individually and in teams; and
• ŸHelp design appropriate assessment tasks to evaluate students’ level of achievements in experiential learning courses/programs.

Applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in an engineering or education discipline with at least 1 year of instructional experience, preferably in higher education. The appointee must be a dynamic learner with excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, and be able to concurrently manage multiple assignments. A high level of proficiency in both spoken and written English is essential, and conversational Cantonese is preferred. Candidates with an up-to-date knowledge of active learning pedagogies; experience with experiential learning in courses/programs; and a good understanding of assessment techniques in higher education will have an advantage. (Duration: 1 year)

Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.
