Summarize the nature and level of work performed:
? Preceptor, mentor for staff nurses and nursing students to provide personalized and cost effective care to the patient in accordance to established hospital policies and procedures.
? Assist nurse manager to provide the highest standard of patient-centered care.
? Operates from a deep understanding of the total situation. Collaborates with other care providers to challenge and coordinate institutional resources to maximize advocacy for patient and family care in achieving the most effective outcomes.
Patient Care: Interpersonal engagement and connection with the patient and/or family.
? Assess plan, implement and evaluate the nursing care of patients throughout the hospitalization.
? Document accurately and concisely the care provided and its outcome.
? Carry out investigation and treatment prescribed by the physician.
? Communicate and discuss patient’s response to treatment and progress with physician and nursing colleagues assigned to patient.
? Participate actively in physician’s round.
? Prepare and assist physician with procedures.
? Collaborate and co-operate with physicians and other health care providers in the smooth delivery of patient care and service.
? Follow - up to ensure continuity of patient care and treatment plan.
? Deliver safe and competent nursing care.
? Demonstrate clinical skills, knowledge and critical thinking in the delivery of patient care.
? Provide patient / family information and education on disease prevention, process and rehabilitation.
? Manage complex patient care in critical care area.
? Maintain and care in the use of the equipment and supplies.
Knowledge and Skills: Skill attained through formal and experiential knowledge.
? Modify interventions based on a deep understanding of patient and family needs attained through past experiences.
? Participate in interdisciplinary forums that promote an integrated approach to patient care.
? Implement unique and innovative approaches to meeting patient, family and practice concerns.
? Lead / coordinate activities that impact the quality of care on the unit and / or patient population.
? Act as a resource to colleagues in relation to a patient population.
? Skillfully negotiate conflict to promote collaboration.
? Understand her/his role as a member of interdisciplinary care team.
? Actively empower and advocate for patients and families to maximize their participation in decision-making and goal setting.
Teamwork and Collaboration: Through the effective relationship with all colleagues and members of the health care team, the best possible outcome is achieved for the patient and family.
? Require the strong capability in clinical judgement and decision-making during the absence of nurse manager.
? Provide guidance, direction and teaching to junior nurses and nursing students, in order to ensure that quality care rendered is to all the patients.
? Aware of and support unit’s and colleagues’ needs through supportive and non-judgmental behaviors.
? Promote the development of collaborative relationships with colleagues and peers by communicating in a constructive manner.
? Encourages all members of the team to openly share their ideas to improve patient care delivery and the smooth operation of the unit.
? Participate in clinical and service quality activities.
Qualifications:
? Hold current PRC nursing license.
? Minimum 8 years of clinical experience with 5 years of related acute care settings.
? Overseas experience preferred.
? Valid certifications (BLS, ACLS, NRP, PALS, etc.) per hospital policy.
? Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, HIS.
? Able to communicate in English.
