Information Security Data Specialist
Job Purpose:
Information Security Data Specialist will play a leading role in driving information security analysis and strategy within the Security State Management team. This position reports to the head of Security State Management. This role is a key business enabler to provide information security risk analysis and strategic recommendations for the ongoing improvement of Information Security within Enterprise Infrastructure.
Job Background:
Information Security is a primary area of focus for Citi. The Security State Manage Team partners with Citi organizations to provide world class Information Security support. This key position reports into the Security State Management organization and will be at the heart of managing vulnerabilities and threats affecting technology infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage program metrics and performance through tracking/reporting and active engagement with stakeholders for continuous service improvement.
- Develop horizontal view of risk posture across multiple technology domains.
- Improve the efficiency of information security processes and advance the effectiveness of the information security controls of the operating model.
- Work with various risk and information security teams in presenting recommendations for improvement to technology subject matter experts and management.
- Engage with cross sector global and risk teams in the review and reengineering of key controls and processes to effectively and efficiently manage IS issues.
- Additional ad-hoc IS & Risk related initiatives and projects
- Work with vulnerability lifecycle managers operations and application support teams and the SSM team to analyze requirements design and develop specs and manage data which supplies information to all vulnerability threat reporting and analysis.
- Develop and maintain transactional and dimensional databases/warehouse with further expansion to big data and other products if necessary.
- Develop and maintain ETL and data load jobs
- Understand front to back systems and manage transaction flow
- Analyze requirements co-design and develop specifications and manage data which supplies information to all threat reporting and analysis for the purpose of reducing risks to Citi's infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain transactional and dimensional databases/warehouse
- Maintain and enhance existing complex stored procedures and spreadsheet-based reporting applications
- BA/BS degree or equivalent experience required MS/MBA preferred.
- Prior experience includes 10+ years+ in information security or information technology management.
- Excellent problem solving abilities and analytical skills. Ability to see the big picture with high attention to critical details.
- Strong work ethic excellent use of discretion and judgment.
- Results oriented is able to achieve desired outcomes independently and at appropriate priority levels.
- Well organized with follow-up abilities; has a track record of effectively managing multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to work under pressure meet challenging deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as independently.
- Effective communicator; has excellent writing and verbal skills.
- Has the ability to influence others and shape/obtain desired outcome in areas outside of direct control.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement process improvement initiatives.
- Expert SQL knowledge and other business analytics software is a plus.
- Advanced knowledge of complex query for data analysis.
- Technical background in RDBMS Windows/Unix Operating systems security technologies and network architectures.
- Basic understanding of security assessment methodology and risk management process.
- Professional Certifications Required or will be expected to acquire: CISSP CISA CISM.
- Strong knowledge of industry standards as they relate to information security management.
