In this vital individual contributor role you will have broad responsibility to co-develop and lead the execution of the data, analytics, AI & reporting strategy. The Data & Analytics Product Team partners and supports Amgen’s Global Medical function globally in developing innovative technology, data, reporting and AI solutions to accelerate and grow Amgen’s pipeline of bio-pharmaceuticals. The team manages implementation of high-performance computing solutions build upon industry leading technologies, such as AWS, Databricks, Salesforce, Tableau, etc. Our success is inspired by our commitment to our patients, to our business partners, and to the use innovative technologies that deliver critical business value

Responsibilities Include:

• Maximize the value of technical capabilities by optimizing functionality, harmonizing, & streamlining effectiveness of technology platforms and assets
• Drive process and data standardization and best practices globally
• Help build core capabilities for advancing the data, analytics, reporting and AI strategies
• Ensure seamless data and system integration for various capabilities in the ecosystem
• Help define and shape standardized approaches to scale solutions
• Work with other technical teams, architects, etc to shape the data and analytics capabilities that meet the needs of the Medical organization
• Implement and maintain adherence to Amgen's IT standards, principles and practices
• Manage and/or support the execution of a varied portfolio of IS projects as the architect
• Support projects business case developing scope of works, performing cost estimation and project tasks duration
• Work closely with the delivery and platform teams to ensure that the applications are aligned with standard city planning approved architectural and development guidelines
• Performs cross system analysis, feasibility analysis, scope projects, prioritize deliverables, and recommend efficient solution. Manage multiple initiatives and priorities
• Lead selected efforts to design, build, and develop rapid Proof-of-Concept (POC) automated solutions and services. Quickly and iteratively prove or disprove the concepts being considered
• Support the introduction & implementation of new technologies to Medical data & analytics portfolio
• Work closely with other business and IS Process Engineers to identify opportunities to stop inefficient practices, simplify business processes, and codify into automated solutions

Basic education & experience

Doctorate degree

OR

Master’s degree and 2 years of Information Systems experience

Or

Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of Information Systems experience

Or

Associate’s degree and 8 years of Information Systems experience

What we expect of you

Preferred Qualifications

• BS or MS in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field
• 5+ years’ experience designing, developing, deploying, and operating solutions across SaaS, Cloud, On-prem and custom software developed platforms in a DevOps environment
• Experience with leading data, analytics, AI and reporting technologies including, but not limited to AWS stack, Databricks, MuleSoft, Tableau, Salesforce, :
• Methods and technologies to support data integrations such as Web Services/APIs/messaging
• Advanced SQL, PySpark and R skills for data querying, profiling, quality and advanced analytics
• Experience developing AI based solutions using NLP, machine learning, data science, RPA, etc
• Data analysis and reporting experience by using analytics, visualization and database technologies
• Working understanding and experience of Agile, Scrum, Design Thinking, and Lean Startup principles and some experience managing Agile projects as technical Product Owner
• Full stack development experience including infrastructure cloud services (Storage, VMs, etc.)
• Ability to plan, prioritize, complete, follow up and anticipate problems.
• Good communication skills to work across and up through the organization, including escalation and mitigation of issues, risks, and business impacts.
• Ability to work in a changing environment, high pressure, balancing multiple projects simultaneously
• Good social skills with ability to work cross-functionally in a team-based environment
• Experience in program and project management including business case development and financial management during project implementation
• Established habit of proactive thinking and behavior and the desire to self-start/learn and apply new technologies
• Knowledge and understanding of biotech/pharma industry regulations, GxP standards and data
• High learning agility, innovation, technical mind set and analytical skills
