Your Role & Responsibilities
- In accordance with the group’s patent policy, improve the patent management system applicable to China;
- Patent life cycle management for the patents in China; assist the R&D to complete patent mining, patent disclosures, patent novelty examination, patent quality audit, patent maintenance, etc.
- Follow up with all kind of product projects of R&D China, help engineers identify the patentable ideas with patent layout strategies, the corresponding work including but not limited to: patent application filings, responses to office actions, patent invalidition and infringement analysis, FTO (free to operation) analysis, inventor reward, etc.;
- Maintain the patent thematic databases for important products, to meet the needs of R&D;
- Lead and improve the patent training courses, providing trainings on different topics separately for R&D, general staff and management;
- Assist MAHLE China affiliates in the handling of IP (including patent) issues and disputes;
- Communicate with and monitor external firms to make sure the services they provide are qualified;
- Follow up government IP projects of the company, and actively identify and develop new projects both Shanghai and the cities where the subsidiaries are located;
- Draft, negotiate and review IP contractual clauses
Your Skills & Strengths
- Full-time undergraduate degree or above, mechanical, electronic, electrical or related majors, with the automotive industry or the additionally legal background as a priority;
- Experienced in intellectual property, intellectual property laws and regulations, as well as intellectual property management in-house;
- Experience as a patent agent or examiner is preferred, and certificate of patent attorney is preferred;
- Fluently English as working language.
