Job Description
The Teacher of TOK is responsible for the implementation, teaching, learning and assessment of the Theory of Knowledge course in the IB Diploma Programme.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and teach lessons following the IB curricula that differentiate for individual student
needs
2. Develop assessment tasks following IB guidelines and use a wide range of formative
assessment tools.
3. Supervise IBDP extended essays.
4. Attend regular curriculum planning and student progress meetings.
5. Work closely with IBDP Coordinator to develop concurrency of learning across the senior
school.
6. Prepare student reports and references, and other reports as required.
7. Keep parents informed about student progress and attending parent meetings if needed.
8. Take an active part in the provision of extra-curricular activities.
9. Collaborate professionally with colleagues on the growth and development of academic and
social programmes.
10. Participate as required in the preparation for inspections, authorization and accreditations. 11. Other work as assigned.
Requirements:
1. A master degree in philosophy, sociology, education or other related subjects.
2. Min. 2 years of IBDP teaching experience in the relevant subject.
3. A passion for TOK and a desire to share this with students, teachers and parents.
4. Fluent English is a requirement.
5. Good interpersonal skills and personality
6. Responsible and collaborative.
7. Committed to quality education.
8. Accountable and highly motivated individual with radiant team spirits.
9. Caring, suitable and safe to work with children.
Compensation and Benefits
1. Monthly salary before tax: - Teaching position: RMB 27,000 - 40,000 on pay scale
2. Full payment for winter and summer vacations
3. Two-year employment contract bonus
