Job Description
Provides professional classroom instruction at the elementary level. Will specialize in multiple topics/subjects. Will participate in co-planning and co-teaching. Will contribute to the overall school program and has a responsibility in developing the school’s operational culture.
Responsibilities
Classroom
Performs daily classroom teaching activities and participates in co-planning of instructional practices that best support student learning.
Works closely with students, parents, and colleagues to develop the student’s Individual Learning Plan (ILP) ensuring understanding, agreement, and support of all stakeholders.
Understands the importance of well-functioning organizational culture and seeks actively ways to develop it. Models the interaction within the faculty and has a responsibility in creating a tolerant and progressive atmosphere.
Understands the significance of the values, knowledge, and beliefs in developing the organizational culture and can assess them.
Regularly evaluates student progress using research-based formative and summative assessment practices.
General Responsibilities
Communicates students' progress to parents
Seeks actively to improve her/his craft as a teaching professional
Follows established policies and school guidelines
Knowledge of content, instructional strategies, and student development
Creates and maintains a respectful and positive learning environment
Participates in co- and/or extra-curricular school activities
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Education K-6 (Ages 6-11)
Proven work experience as an Elementary School Teacher/Classroom teacher or similar role
Previous teaching experience with specialization in elementary education development and instruction
Knowledge of relevant progressive curriculum and instructional strategies
The ability to provide 2 professional references
Preferred
Master's degree in Education K-6 (Ages 6-11)
Previous experience working in a dynamic educational environment
