High School Social Studies Teacher
Reports to: Secondary School Coordinator
A highly qualified and certified teacher responsible for delivering specific course content.
Teachers provide instruction, support and guidance, manage thelearning process and focus on
students'individual needs. Teachers monitor student progress through leaming management
system, and they work actively with students and parents to advance learning, the teacher is
expected to contribute to the broader life of the school, including extracuricular activities, and to uphold the school's mission and values.Candidates should have a commitment to fostering a culturally diverse and inclusive environment.As part of their regular teaching responsibilities,
teachers are expected to fulfill duties in the following areas:
Responsibilities:
- Teach courses in social studies, including history. geography, and civics.
- Develop engaging curriculum that follows the American education standards.
- Evaluate student work and provide constructive feedback.
- Stay current with global and historical events and incorporate them into lessons - Participate in school-wideprofessional development and curriculum planning.
Qualifications:
-A Bachelor or Master's degree in History, Social Sciences, or related field.
-Teaching certification in Social Studies.
-2 or more years of full time, school based, teaching experience related in Social Studies.- Proven experience in teaching social studies at thehigh school level.
- Familiarity with American educational standards and methodologies.
