As Head of Power Systems Consulting (PSC) joining the Power Technologies International (PTI) segment part of the Smart Infrastructure Division, you will be responsible to manage, plan, execute, scope, schedule and ensure proper resources are in place for the successful completion of the projects. The core responsibilities include the management of the PTI PSC resources and projects, and the performance of consulting and business development activities to offer and deliver cost-effective Transmission, Distribution and Industrial systems studies. In this role, it is crucial to develop and maintain a strong relationship with the customers. The successful candidate must have superior problem-solving skills with quality and accuracy in a project environment and pays great attention to details. Some domestic travel may be required. This position can be located anywhere in Canada and work from home. What will you do? Effectively manage and lead transmission, distribution and industrial system studies within time and budget constraints, managing potential changes to scope and the resources assigned to each project. Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables with Consulting Engineers and Business Developers Respond to requests for proposals (RFP) and provide customer support in a timely manner Develop comprehensive project plans, manage project budget, scope and resources and accurately track costs associated with projects Provide direction and support to project team Track and monitor progress of project execution and provide regular feedback to clients Review study reports and other technical documentations Ensure compliance in completion and delivery of reports Conduct business development and technical marketing of consulting services for developing of new business What will you need to succeed? Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering Minimum of 10 years' working experience in transmission, distribution and industrial system studies Experience in Managing Consulting teams and Project Management Experience in delivering successful consulting services is an asset Experience in performance power system studies such as: Steady-state and dynamic analysis Distribution systems planning Integration of renewable energy and distributed generation Smart grid design and implementation Knowledge of the Electricity Utility Sector, Smart Grid and Smart Grid technologies is an asset Short circuit and Protection and coordination Electromagnetic transient (EMT) studies Familiarity with commercial software for electrical system studies such as PSS®E, EMTP-RV, DigSilent, PSLF, PSCAD, CYMDIST, ETAP, ASPEN, etc. Experience in Transmission and Distribution markets and Consulting Projects for Utilities, ISO’s, TSO’s and Industrial systems preferred Familiarity with one or more programming languages (FORTRAN, Python, C++, etc) is an asset Available for domestic and some international travel Performance Competencies (Non-Technical Skills) Effective oral and written communication skills Detail-oriented; problem solving skills with quality and accuracy Ability to work individually or in a collaborative team environment Basic negotiation skills Excellent aptitude for marketing and business development activities English language required; French and Spanish considered an asset About us.
