Background Description

Stora Enso’s businesses in Guangxi include forest plantation harvesting and management and the Beihai packaging board mill which is the largest foreign-invested project in Guangxi as well as one of the important investments in Stora Enso’s strategic transformation.

Currently the total investment of the Beihai mill is approx. 800 million euros. The board machine has an annual capacity of 450,000 tonnes. The mill has a high focus on product quality/safety and employs state-of-the-art environmental equipment and advanced technologies, and mainly produces top-grade board products targeting the food service, electronic, confectionary and perfumery markets.

The Stora Enso Guangxi forest operations commenced in 2002. At present, the leased area is approx. 82,000 hectares with 70,000 hectares of eucalyptus plantation. All the plantations have continuously been certified to Forest Stewardship Council® and Chinese CFCCTM certification schemes since 2012 and have been continuously providing renewable raw materials to the Stora Enso Beihai mill since 2016.

The forestry organization is structured along functional lines, consisting of operational departments including Wood Supply, Sales & Marketing, Land Management, Silviculture, Research & Development and Government Affairs etc. The total employee number is approx. 600.

We are currently looking for a Head of Planning and Supply Chain Management for our Stora Enso Guangxi Forestry organization:

Work location

Beihai Tieshangang office, Guangxi, China and requiring regular travel to operational work-sites within southern Guangxi

Job description

The Head of Planning and Supply Chain Management’s main responsibilities are:

1. Responsible for supply chain management and planning, from forestry to customer delivery

2. Leading Stora Enso Guangxi Forestry’s planning department and teams

3. Improve planning efficiency including process and tools upgrade when necessary

4. Take BH Mill key account customer relationship role for future deliveries and demand requirements

5. Overview of cost related volumes, woodflows and event measurement with controlling

6. Ensure plans are well made, communicated, and followed on a regular basis.

 - Strategic planning of forestry operations (3-5 years)

 - Business planning/management planning, scenario planning

 - Rolling forecast from 12 to 18 months

 - Operational plans for different business activities (daily plan for harvesting, silviculture establishment & tending, stumpage sales, wood demand/input data, transportation plans, actual vs plan analysis etc.)

7. Responsible for obtaining harvesting licenses and road construction licenses

Qualifications

1. Bachelor degree from a professional school in forestry or similar skills

2. Proven management and leadership skills in forestry industry

3. Minimum of 10 year’s work experience in forestry operations & planning

4. Proactive, structured, with a positive and resilient personality

5. Proven ability to adapt to challenging environments

6. Human focus and has great communication skills

7. Chinese language is an advantage and English language ability is strongly preferred
