In this role, you will:
Head of Credit Research provides the leadership to credit analysis team and is responsible for developing credit research framework, including credit scorecard, research and acts as a 1LOD (Line of Defense) to ensure a prudent management of the credit portfolios such as corporate bonds, fixed deposit counterparties, alternative credit, infrastructure debt plan and real estate debt plan. The job holder is required, from time to time, to work with stakeholders within the Group, globally to actively review and manage the credit limit of HSBC Insurance China.
From technical aspect, the role is responsible for analyzing and interpreting economic developments and key trends in various financial markets and products and providing views for internal/external clients. This will involve conducting bespoke research and analysis, as well as participating in and creating of presentations, conferences, seminars and media coverage and the attending of expert events and corporate access.The remit covers macro-economic and political environment globally and may encompass areas such as Economics, FX, Equities, Asset Allocation and Fixed Income. In addition, the job holder is expected to develop extensive understanding in credit markets, both locally and regionally.
The role holder's key tasks will include some or all of the following:
- Conducting research and technical analyses, keeping abreast of developments in field of expertise
- Preparing presentation materials and media, which may include video, audio and printed media
- Presenting at seminars, conferences and events
- Serving the needs for research and analyses of external stakeholders, which will include investors

Participating in professional and industry forums to develop expertise
- Qualifications
- Post-graduate university degree and over ten to fifteen years of relevant investment professional work experience
- Preferably professional experience in portfolio management, credit research, risk management in the international and developed markets
- Excellent communication and presentation skill in both English and Mandarin
- Possess in-depth knowledge in China market, in particular credit and fixed income market.
- Master degree in Finance or Business
- Possess board-based knowledge of the Group's insurance business and investment management model
- Possess strategic thinking and business acumen
- Excellent stakeholder skills
- Courageous leadership able to lead, inspire and develop the team
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills – able to make business aligned and timely decisions

Employees on Teller position need to serve 12 months after the individual has obtained all the required licenses (including 反***证书 etc.), before being eligible to submit internal job application without getting line managers' written endorsement.
