Job Description

Major Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead corporate communication strategies for the organisation
  • Supervise a medium-size corporate communications team with key responsibility for public relations, brand management and in-house editorial support.
  • Set the strategic direction for all affiliated schools and affiliates of the international school education group to advance the organisation’s internal and external communication efforts including but not limited to brand management, content development, public relations, and media relations.
  • Work closely with marketing at the corporate and school level to implement corporate communication plans to help raise visibility and improve the admission rate.
  • Initiate media and communication training for key internal stakeholders and leadership team
  • Improve editorial standards and lead the production of internal and external communication material
  • Develop and manage the organisation identity and brand including engaged vendors and agencies
  • Develop and manage external communications and engagement activities for stakeholders, communities and the press
  • Deliver measurable organic media results across TV, press, radio, social and digital media
  • Develop and manage crisis and contingency plans
  • Supervise the team to ensure seamless execution based on our strategy.
  • Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure a clear understanding of and effective implementation of the communication strategy
  • Work closely with CIDMO to ensure the communication strategy aligns with the larger marcom priorities
  • Develop a rigorous business plan with measurable short to long-term goals and KPIs.
  • Safeguard the overall reputation of the organisation and become a brand evangelist for the institution, affiliated schools and stakeholders.
  • Oversee communication strategy via different online and offline platforms in Hong Kong, China and other international markets.
  • Message development for fundraising and large-scale marketing initiatives, campaigns, announcements via all internal and external outlets.
  • Initiate various communication trend reports and market research reports including daily news clippings.
  • Ensure effective escalation protocols for crisis management and prevention.
Others
  • Contribute to and facilitate any internal and external meetings as required.
  • To carry out any other duties as required by CIDMO.
Competency Requirements:
  • Able to translate and articulate complex information into easy-to-understand messages
  • Highly adaptable to reprioritise and shift gears quickly
  • Excellent people management skills, communication and interpersonal skills, including superior written and spoken communication
  • Excellent presenter, a strong leader, a proactive marketer with cultural sensitivity and the ability to listen

Academic, Job Experience Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Degree in Media, Journalism, Communications, Business Management or relevant discipline
  • Proficiency in Cantonese, Mandarin and English
  • 15+ years of experience in corporate communication
  • Strong regional/global communication experience in a large corporation
  • Strategic thinking with an innovative mindset
  • Familiarity with the latest communication platforms including digital and social media
