Job Description

The job holder is to promote effective communication and marketing among all constituencies of the School and to facilitate Head of Schools Office (“HOSO”) communication. Ensure consistent cohesive design of school publications to protect school branding. Collaborate with HOSO to clearly communicate the School’s vision, mission, goals and outcomes in Christian faith and living.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1.  Publication:

  • Plan, design and coordinate a consistent internal and external publication and content with updated communication tools and social media.
  • Manage the School’s intranet, public information and bulletin for staff, teachers, parents, students and alumni.
  • Design school website and review its content.
  • Prepare the School Annual Report.
  • Perform editing and proofreading for all external and internal documents for communication and marketing purpose (e.g. executive speech, media release, editorials, school brochure and literature, annual report, etc.).

2.  Communication & Media Relations:

  • Formulate and implement communication strategy, brand building, development and protection. Liaise and collaborate with cross-functional team to support overall communication strategy.
  • Design and implement a consistent and cohesive internal and external communication channels and systems.
  • Align all communication as a coherent message and manage consistent content through centralized and coordinated communication and publications.
  • Establish and manage strong network and professional relationship with public relations, press, media, education authorities, corporate, institutional, church, NGO, etc.
  • Design and execute crisis management policy and procedure and its contingency plan. Facilitate School’s official spokesman in dealing with special happenings and unexpected crisis events.  
  • Manage all media enquiries on different issues, analyze fact findings and recommend possible solutions.
  • Develop and transform stakeholder and value-added partners’ relationship into school-wide development resources.

3.  Branding:

  • Communicate effective branding of the School and build school image by increasing brand name awareness and attractiveness with specific channels and tools.
  • Manage and leverage press and media relationship for brand building and brand protection. Build school’s brand and shape the way we connect with our community by using digital media to identify, target, engage and nurture our audience.
  • Plan and design appropriate media, social media, website, newsletter, blog with right marketing channels for various stakeholders.

4.  Project Management:

  • Organize and execute flagship school events and projects for the school community development and campaigns to reach out key stakeholders.
  • Manage and analyze key database of all stakeholder relationship.

 

Qualification & Experience:

  • Bachelor degree, preferred in Communication, Marketing, Public Relation, Journalism or related disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of experience in communication, public relations, marketing or branding areas with at least 2 years of experience in supervisory level, international and multi-cultural environment preferred.
  • Experience in the educational institution, non-profit organization, charitable organization would be an advantage. 
  • Hands-on design experience in producing high quality publication (e.g. digital, multi-media, print) preferred.
  • Experience in leading and managing projects from ground work to results delivery, develop short and long-term plans, tools, processes and procedures which enable the School to meet objectives, goals and timelines, while monitoring the progress of projects and use of resources in optimal way.
  • Proven ability and successful track record on brand building through marketing tactics.

  • Interpersonal and communication skill:
    • Excellent interpersonal and intrapersonal maturity with the ability to work with various stakeholders (students, staff, faculty, parents, alumni, Board of Trustees, School Management Committee, donors, etc.)
    • Proven success in communication and interpersonal skills to deliver results, presents data and information clearly and effectively, varies communication style to meet recipient needs, responds well to questions and problems, communicates effectively and ensures informed and shared information.
  • High proficiency in English. Strong written and verbal communication and bi-lingual skills are highly preferred. Knowledge of Mandarin would be an advantage.
  • Able to translate ideas into action with persuasion, passionate and dedication.
  • Strong networking and relationship development.
  • Able to learn quickly, work independently and follow through.
  • Professional and proactive working attitude with an uncompromising commitment to quality, result-oriented, good attention to details, able to work under pressure and a mature team player.  
  • Confident, pleasant and presentable.
  • Knowledge in graphic layout and publishing, experience with website design is preferred.
