Peppers Silo Hotel is an inspiring $30 million redevelopment of the Kings Wharf grain silos in Launceston, Tasmania. The nine storey hotel consists of 108 rooms, including 52 in the barrels of the former silos, and overlooks the nearby tourist drawcards of Seaport, Royal Park, the Tamar River Basin and Cataract Gorge. A vibrant level 1 houses a 200 seat restaurant, café, cocktail bar, lounge and a number of meeting rooms.

We are seeking a passionate and vibrant Full Time Head Barista  to join our energetic, service-centred Team.

As our next Head Barista you will:

• Have exceptional knowledge and passion in making all types of espresso coffee including latte art
• Assist Supervisors and Managers to lead the overall operation of Grain Cafe
• Always present yourself in a professional manner while retaining a high regard for personal grooming
• Help to develop a high performing barista/cafe team, ensuring staff understand their responsabilities and providing them with training and support
• Coordinate the preparation of all orders from coffee counter, enabling waiting staff to serve freshly made beverages promptly
• Be prepared to cover all aspects of Grain service including serving food, operating the till, waiting and clearing tables 
• Handle customer enquiries and complaints in a professional manner and with a high standard of customer service
• Maintain and follow health, safety and security procedures at all times

What we are looking for:

• A love of coffee
• Previous experience in a similar role
• Passion and enthusiasm for work in the hospitality and food industry
• A valid RSA
• Exceptional organisation and communicative skills
• Australian working rights with the ability to work across a varied roster including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays
