Position: Group C&B strategy and projects

Main goals and objectives:
This position fully deputize for Head of Compensation and Benefits on strategic and important matters, especially on leading strategic group wide C&B projects, steering 100% entities and JVs on C&B strategy and operation, developing new C&B concepts and leading bonus round and merit increase.
This position plays an important role in developing strategic C&B (compensation & benefits) concepts and solutions for 100% VW entities across China, supporting Head of Compensation and Benefits to develop total reward strategy and delivering C&B knowledge to ensure VGC total reward strategy and practices effectively sustain talent acquisition and retention and finally support sustainable business development.
In compensation perspective, the position holder is responsible for designing new compensation concepts and leading strategic compensation projects as project manager.
In benefit part, this position is responsible for developing new benefit concepts and solutions and implementing company offered benefits plans, including health, wealth and care benefits for all employees (FSE, LE and Local) and leading strategic benefits projects as project manager. This position is fully responsible for all kinds of benefits operation in daily business.
The position holder provides guidance, training and consultation for other VGC C&B specialists or other HR colleagues regarding difficult C&B questions and issues. This position also steers other 100% VW entities across China on strategic C&B topics and projects
Your Responsibilities:
Develop strategic C&B concepts and solutions for VGC and 100% VW entities across China
Based on C&B strategy and philosophy, develop strategic C&B concepts and solutions to address current and future business needs
Specify the concepts and solutions to specific C&B projects, timeline, involved parties, milestone and deliverables
Support Head of C&B to communicate the concepts and plans to HR EVP and other top HR management
Lead strategic C&B projects for VGC and 100% VW entities across China as project manager
Based on C&B concepts and plans, specify responsible project plan (project scope, timeline, involved parties, milestone and deliverables)
External projects:
Lead the pitching process (RFQ, pitching organization, vendor evaluation, internal purchasing process management) if external vendors involved
Manage and steer the delivering process of external vendor (project needs clarification, management interview, solution discussion, quality check of deliverables)
Internal projects
Clarify project needs and manage project delivering process
Design the detailed solution for C&B project (detailed plan, cost projection, impact on company and employees, etc.)
Support Head of C&B to draft reports to present project solutions to top management in HR Committee or BoM meetings
Support Head of Compensation and Benefits to develop total reward strategy for 100% VW entities across China
Analyse the C&B needs from BUs, identify the challenges and opportunities in auto industry, new business field and labour market and conclude the implication to C&B
Regularly perform internal and external analysis to analyse effectiveness and competitiveness of C&B
Based on “Is” analysis and “To be” analysis, conduct gap analysis
Based on gap analysis support Head of C&B to translate the needs into C&B strategy and philosophy
Support Head of C&B to communicate C&B strategy and philosophy to top management
Lead annual merit increase and variable bonus plan process
Prepare the annual compensation benchmarking report
Provide the merit increase budget and salary increase matrix, prepare variable bonus proposal according to the performance of individual, company and Group success.
Prepare the final budget accrual sheet for wrap-up the annual compensation budget round
Prepare the excel formula for the comparative appraisal panel to reflect all the budget and logic of salary increase and bonus, and assign budget by division and manage the overall budget usage
Lead VGC group level for C&B related benchmarking for policy, program effectiveness & competitiveness
Identify, select and participate in compensation & benefits surveys to analyze the company’s competitive market position for all locally hires.
Lead in external job matching by using consulting firm’s methodology and internal grading evaluation result.
Coordinate customized compensation & benefits surveys with our major comparator group.
Conduct full scale of benchmarking for our total rewards system include: compensation, benefits and HR policy and practices.
Lead the group sponsored survey and for planning round and other topics
Lead the reviewing and development of company provided health, wealth and care benefits plans and work on new benefits related projects
Lead benefits related projects. (Involve in plan design, communication, plan enrolment and etc.)
Lead all types benefits plan design, costs analyse, market competitive positioning, and understand employees interests among different employee groups.
Analyses and reports on the competitive value of company benefit plans and programs. Identifies and participates in various benefits surveys to recommend, develop, obtain approval for updating of the company benefits plan to ensure cost effectiveness and plan design competitiveness within the market.
Work with different service provider insurance carriers, benefits brokers, relevant service providers and consultants to optimize benefit program results.
Responsible for effective communications and promotion of company provided benefits programs, initiatives and events and distribute general information to all employees. Provide prompt and accurate answers to benefits questions.
Lead Benefits Plan on-going Administration
Health benefits plans including but no limited to supplemental medical plan, annual health check, supplemental insurance (Life, AD&D Critical Illness and etc.) ,ensure all benefits enrollments, changes and terminations are processed as required;also responsible for fitness center and sports club.
Wealth Benefits plans including but not limited to employee car purchasing and car financing program.
Care benefits plans including but not limited to leave benefits (annual leave, sick leave, maternity/paternity Leave), season greetings & gifts, service award
Work with vendors on invoicing and payment processes, reconcile billing issues, coverage issues and any other issues that may raise and /or need to be communicated with vendors and management/employees.
Responsible for manage the vendors performance, develop and proactively maintain positive work relations with suppliers. Handling the field complaints from the BU/employees related to the vendors, research and identify the root cause of the issue and work with the vendors to ensure the appropriate resolution to avoid repeated issues.
Responsible for annual benefits renewals process
Lead Total Rewards Communication
Develop and arrange the effective total remuneration communication channels of company provided compensation and benefits plans to all employees.
Develop and review total rewards brochure for all employees
Provide information on compensation & benefits related cost analysis to internal customer
Provide guidance, training and consultation for other team members or other HR colleagues
Steers other 100% VW entities across China on strategic C&B topics and projects
Provide C&B training for HR colleagues in HRQP or other training programs
Provide guidance and consultation for other C&B colleagues regarding difficult C&B questions and issues
Our Requirements:
Necessary education:
University Degree and above major in business administration or related
Personal skills:
Must be hands-on with high level of professional skills, independently working in a demanding, fast-pace environment.
Strong benefits knowledge on China social insurance as well as the supplemental benefits practices in local market.
Strong analytical, problem solving skills, ability to create tools and models to interpret and analyse data
Good communication and problem solving skills
High degree of English language fluency
Working experience (in years):
Minimum 8 years C&B working experience in MNC preferably with automotive industry background.
Compensation and benefits project management experience
Good communication competency in terms of total rewards awareness.
