The ASML China Government Affairs and Policy Manager is a newly created position and will play an important role in supporting ASML’s growth in the fast-moving industry influenced by strong government involvement and public policy changes. The role will develop and take lead on initiatives related to interactions with government and other public organizations, and public policy intelligence gathering and study. S/he will monitor the updates in the relevant field, provide strategic counsel to business leaders, build and manage healthy relationship with government agencies and other public organizations at various levels, and promote ASML’s reputation, all in a compliant and ethical way.

The China Government Affairs and Policy Manager will be based in Shanghai or Beijing, with requirements to travel domestically and internationally as needed. As a member of ASML’s Corporate Legal Department, s/he will report to China Legal and Compliance Head and will work closely with colleagues in the headquarter and other regions in addition to the China Management Team.

Main Responsibilities:

• Help develop and maintain healthy relationships with government agencies where ASML operates in China

• Continuously monitor and interpret the policy landscape in China to provide business leaders with sophisticated insights on policies that may have an impact on ASML

• Promote a positive presence for ASML with government and other public organizations to shape the policy environment relevant for ASML business

• Direct efforts to obtain incentives for ASML business activities, as appropriate

• Assist in public policy influencer engagement efforts for executives via speaking engagements and meeting opportunities, support them with policy positions and communications materials

• Assist in incident management, as appropriate

• Work collaboratively with other departments to ensure compliance, strategic alignment and well-informed decision-making

Requirements:

• Business fluency in spoken and written English and Mandarin

• Bachelor or above degree in the fields of law, public relations, political science or communications, from a reputable college

• 7+ years work experience, preferably with substantial experience working in a multinational company

• In-depth knowledge and understanding of Chinese government organizations and working philosophies

• Strong experience interacting with government officials, policy-makers, agencies and other external stakeholder groups

• Sound business judgment and analytical skills, ability to formulate, develop and execute on agreed strategies

• Excellent internal and external communication skill
