As an Global R&D/Technology Manager you will be responsible for defining and implement the Building & Home Automation Solutions Global Product Group’s technology roadmap and lead the according development in Asia Pacific, in Electrification Business Area in Shenzhen, China, ensure drive new digital business models together with PM and implement the digital business growth strategies solutions to enhance digitalization business.
Reporting to the Global R&D Manager, you will manage research and development activities and resources by implementing technology projects, leading overall R&D sites.
Your responsibilities
- Creating technology roadmaps for digitalization business and defining and executing digitalization business strategy such as for door entry systems
- Developing culture and capability to ensure employees can challenge the status quo in technical issues, projects and/or processes. Planning and ensuring an optimal project portfolio for the team, planning capacity, people and resources for R&D projects
- Overseeing efficient, timely and quality project execution using the most appropriate internal and external resources and partners as well as tools
- Applying appropriate development and quality standards and monitoring local product quality and change requests to identify issues
- Ensuring information flow among organization and setting up and maintaining channels for sharing knowledge and state-of-the-art developments from different sources
- Supporting appropriate protection of newly created intellectual property and assists in defense and enforcement activities of related technology
- Preparing annual and multi-year budget in cooperation with local & global management. Managing assigned resources for R&D activities, assigning tasks to team members, and supervising workload and work allocation within the project team
- Ensuring appropriate competencies are developed and acquired within the team to support development of future products and systems. Proper organization, staffing, skilled, directing and guiding, motivating and developing direct and indirect employees with the support of HR processes
Your background
- 10 years of software development & management working experience
- 5 years of experience in new digital technologies such as cloud, Electronic knowledge
- 3 years of architecture & system design experience & familiar with software engineering and CMMI models
- A Master’s degree or higher in computer engineering
- Skilled at people management and technology management
- Excellent communication and coordination, Chinese as mother tongue and fluency in English
