As an Global R&D/Technology Manager, you will be responsible for defining and implementing the technology roadmap in according to the global strategy defined by Building & Home Automation Solutions Global Product Group, for Electrification Business Area, in Xiamen, China ensuring to meet the requirements of product development projects, driving and fostering a culture of innovation within the department.

Reporting to the Global R&D Manager, you will manage research and development activities and resources by implementing technology projects, leads overall Xiamen TDC R&D site.

Your responsibilities

• Creating technology roadmap, executing technology projects in according to the roadmap. Developing culture and capability to ensure employees can challenge the status quo in technical issues, projects and/or processes.
• Planning and ensuring an optimal project portfolio for the team, plans capacity, people and resources for R&D projects. Overseeing efficient, timely and quality project execution using the most appropriate internal and external resources and partners as well as tools
• Applying appropriate development and quality standards and monitoring local product quality and change requests to identify issues. Ensuring information flow among organization and setting up and maintaining channels for sharing knowledge and state-of-the-art developments from different sources
• Supporting appropriate protection of newly created intellectual property and assisting in defense and enforcement activities of related technology
• Preparing annual and multi-year budget in cooperation with local & global management
• Managing assigned resources for R&D activities, assigning tasks to team members, and supervising workload and work allocation within the project team
• Ensuring appropriate competencies are developed and acquired within the team to support development of future products and systems
• Ensuring properly organization, staffed, skilled and directed and guided, motivating and developing direct and indirect employees with the support of HR processes

Your background

• 10 years+ development & management working experience and 5 years+ working experience in building and home automation products development
• Skilled at people management and technology management
• A bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering
• Excellent at communication and coordination
• Fluency in English and Chinese as mother tongue
