As a Global Platform Manager Cast Iron General Performance Motors, you will be responsible for analyzing and tracking globally market, technology, competitor and customer requirements and trends related to the entire portfolio and determining competitive attributes, prioritization and value proposition, for Motion Business Area in Shanghai, China.
Reporting to the Head of Product and Platform Management, you will develop a strategic plan that supports profitable growth.
Your responsibilities
- Analyzing and tracking globally market, technology, competitor and customer requirements and trends related to the entire portfolio and determining competitive attributes, prioritization and value proposition.
- Owning the technical and market specification for the products under responsibility and ensuring requirements are met globally and right positioning towards the market.
- Developing a strategic plan that supports profitable growth. Creating and maintaining long-list of opportunities (new products, enhancements, cost savings), prioritizing needed actions and winning approval from relevant stakeholders for execution
- Setting requirements as well as sales price and cost targets for new product developments. Contributing to development of new portfolios by leading customer need and value analysis and marketing actions
- Developing and maintaining a global reference price list appropriate to both ABB internal product positioning strategy and competitor offerings and ensuring this is developed and deployed to reflect the needs of individual markets
- Initiating and driving product market communication strategy, including product launch planning and implementation
- Initiating creation of external and internal product training modules and programs to ensure product values, positioning and sales arguments are fully understood by the front-end and relevant partners
- Acting as interface between external market and internal functions (e.g. Sales, Operations, and Research & Development)
Your background
- 5 years of experience in product management, engineering, sales or marketing
- Sound knowledge of LV motors, LV Motors markets, customer needs and portfolio
- Knowledge of standards and regulations related to IEC LV Motor
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business Administration
- Strong results orientation and analytical thinking (ability to lead market and portfolio analysis, derive insights and identify and prioritize strategic options)
- Ability to develop strong international network within the organization and collaborate with key stakeholders
- Strong written and spoken communication skills in English
