ABB’s Robotics and Discrete Automation (RA) Business Area is writing the future of flexible factory and smart machines by providing value-added solutions in robotics, machine and factory automation. Our integrated automation solutions, application expertise across a wide scope of industries and our global presence deliver tangible customer value.

You will be responsible in enabling and driving growth through new business development by personally driving but also supporting Countries on defining and executing business development activities that are aimed towards further expanding into General Industry sub-segments and key potential accounts.
In this role you will be taking the lead in the development of new Business opportunities that supports Robotics General Industry’s overall strategy. We are seeking someone with an entrepreneurial spirit, passion for sales who takes a hands-on approach to building business opportunities. In this strategic position you will be working closely with marketing & sales and product management teams to achieve established sales goals and drive prioritized business development initiatives that maximize and grow the General Industry footprint and generate revenue for the Organization.

This position reports directly to the Global Marketing and Sales Manager General Industry.

The role can be based in any leading industrial country.

Your responsibilities

  • Having an extensive knowledge of the current Robotics market and manage business development tracking metrics.
  • Supporting the development of a deep market intelligence and knowledge at Country level.
  • Identifying those market segments and trends that can bring most opportunities for ABB Robotics’ General Industry business. Carefully defining actions to win market share in such segments and drive the execution of the action plan
  • Connecting with and meeting clients in coordination together with the Countries
  • Supporting/spreading the replication of successful installations and experience within a certain market segments and /or customer type.
  • Driving the development of new business opportunities at all stages of the sales cycle, including targeting, prospecting, and presenting compelling business propositions
  • Working effectively with the Countries’ business development functions and collaborate with them to continuously grow sales and revenues through targeted business development. This requires creating, developing and maintaining an internal network
  • Preparing and presenting powerful, persuasive sales presentations that effectively demonstrate the value proposition of ABB’s products and solutions.
  • Maintaining consistent sales growth by continuously establishing new accounts and maintaining existing accounts
  • Developing and executing a strategic business plan that meets or exceeds established sales goals and supports General Industry revenues and profitability target.

Your background

  • University degree. MBA is preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of overall work experience in relate fields and minimum 5 years in business & market development role/s.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • A Robotics background is highly preferred. Passion for Robotics and the ability to energize, develop and build rapport, collaboration, and influence at all levels within an organization.
  • Ability to segment a market and understand key elements. Ability to “roll up his/her sleeves” and jump into drive actions and resolution.
  • A self-starter approach, who demonstrate ability to think strategically and analytically about markets, business, product, and technical challenges.
  • Ability to build and convey compelling value propositions and work across the organization to build consensus.
  • A strong ownership, proactive, curious about new trends and emerging technologies in our business and customer focus attitude and the determination to win is a must.
